William H Taft Girls Softball Fundraiser

Our Taft Softball program is looking to raise funds to continue giving our young ladies a great experience. We take great pride in providing a unique experience. We are the only Chicago Public School that offers 3 levels of softball. All 3 teams have their on coaching staff and schedule. Our varsity and junior varsity team play the max games(35) allowed by the IHSA. Also, our freshman team plays 20+ games. Combined, our program plays nearly 100 games during the spring. In 2024, our varsity team will travel to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Our varsity and JV program will also travel to Oak Creek, Wisconsin to play. And our JV and freshman team will also travel to Crown Point, Indiana to play in a double header. We invest time and take pride in our program and strive to develop our players by giving them as many opportunities to practice and play against other competitive programs. With the rising cost in traveling, equipment, and fees for officials, we hope you will invest in our program and help our Lady Eagles chase greatness on and off the field! Go Eagles.

About Us

Taft Softball has accumulated 9 City Championships, 3 IHSA Regional Championships, and 1 IHSA Sectional Championship throughout it's softball history. Last year during the 2023 season we were JV City Champs, Varsity City Champs, and IHSA Regional Champs! Our girls also have the opportunity to play out of state every year creating great bonds and memories that will last a lifetime. We are excited about the upcoming 2024 season and the possibility of bringing home some more hardware. We are laser focused being one of the top powerhouse teams in Chicago and the rest of Illinois. We have instilled in our players how to discover pride in oneself, your teammates, and TAFT! Being part of our program is special. As a program, taking pride in what we do in the classroom and on the field is a top priority, but we also take pride in our community. During the summer of 2023 we started up a 7th 8th grade summer team. We also provided a very inexpensive summer softball camp, and a free winter camp for middle schoolers. These camps were ran by our coaches and current and past Taft softball players whom volunteered their time to nearly 100 middle school girls. We instill in our players the importance of giving back to our softball community, as many of them once attended our camps at that age. Our softball program is not only a strong pillar in the athletic program at Taft, but also in the city of Chicago.
