For the first time in school history, the Osbourn Park Varsity Sideline Cheerleading Team competed in the UCA Regional Game Day Competition at Deep Run High School near Richmond, Virginia, in September 2018. This competition allowed the OP Cheerleaders to showcase the crowd-leading skills they use every week at football games under the Friday Night Lights. They performed a band chant, situational sideline, timeout cheer, and fight song that wowed the crowd. This was the first time OP Cheer competed in this style of competition. The OP Cheer Team took home a first place finish and earned a qualifying bid for the UCA Game Day National High School Cheerleading Championship. The National High School Cheerleading Championship is the most prestigious cheerleading championship in the country. It is held at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, and nationally televised on ESPN and ESPN2 to over 100 million homes and 32 countries nationwide each year. The Osbourn Park Cheerleaders have qualified to attend this prestigious event in February 2019, and the team needs your help! To get to Nationals, the team needs to raise $8,000. Please help us by supporting our efforts with a tax-deductible donation. Thank you for your help!
