I want to share what factors will go into your coaches' decision making process for team selection. First off this is 7's rugby, we play multiple games in tournament style format and there is no such thing as a "starting" team. The lineup in any given game will vary based on factors such as: importance of the individual game, fitness, fatigue, injuries, opponent size, speed, style of play etc. We have unlimited substitutions and we will need EVERYONE to be ready to go in the game at any moment. We are ONE team, period

Your coaches are not perfect. We reserve the right to make any changes at any time for the factors outlined below or any other reason. We will make mistakes. And just as your coaches are not perfect, we know our players aren't either. But we expect all players to show up at practice and games striving to have a good attitude and be a team player.
Here are our general considerations for competitive selection:
1. Safety
2. Eligibility - all school and league documents submitted, fees paid.
3. 7's Rugby Skill level - we will always strive to be competitive
4. Fitness and mental and physical toughness. Rugby is not like any other sport.
5. Opponent match up- including size, style, speed etc. - will always strive to match the opposition as best as we can.
6. One Team! below is simply things that ALL coaches value:
a. Attendance-players must communicate with coaches if they will be absent from any training sessions
b. Attitude-at practices, players need a good attitude that includes being supportive and respectful to coaches, team mates and the referees. Not a "me" player, being attentive, willingness to learn, helping carry gear, water, picking up after ourselves at practice and games etc.

We will do the best we can but at this time I do not anticipate a shortage of playing time. We will have injuries and any given weekend there will be players who can not make it. We absolutely need and want everyone fit and ready to go.
