Message from Coach Dearborn: ROYAL FOOTBALL IS BACK!
Royal Family,
I am ecstatic to announce that we will be returning to the field and weight room beginning June 22nd!! We are labeling this our Phase 1/ Conditioning Period and it will begin after our June 6th-June 21st Dead Period. Another piece of good news is that River Meza (Current Strength & Conditioning Coach and Varsity Running Backs Coach) will be our new JV Head Coach! Coach Meza is a great man, mentor, coach and Alumni of the highlander football program and we cannot wait for him to assume this role. READ THROUGH THIS WHOLE EMAIL!

What does this mean? What will it look like? Are we taking the virus seriously?

Here is the following protocol that we currently have been issued....
1. Social Distancing is MANDATORY during all workouts
2. Athletes will be put into groups (Up to 10 athletes and 2 coaches)
3. Once a group is established the assigned coach will stay with that group through the duration of the workout.
4. Balls can be used but cannot be handed or passed off (Ball must stay with an individual and then sanitized before being used by another individual)
5. All equipment must be sanitized after each use
6. We will have frequent visits from administration to make sure we are following protocol.

Myself and our coaching staff are going to diligently follow these guidelines, provide a safe environment for our athletes, and take all precautions necessary.

FAQ'S
Q: When is our dead period and what does that mean?
A: June 6th - June 21st, No practice or meetings for all of Royal Athletics

Q: What days and times will be practice?
A: Mon-Thurs, Varsity & JV (3:30pm-5:30pm) Freshman (9am-11am)

Q: What will a practice look like?
A: Groups of players/coach at a designated station for 20minutes, rotating (Water break & sanitation during rotations), then moving to the next station. Total of 6 stations. 6x20min = 2 hour practice

Q: What does the calendar look like now?
A: Phase 1 workouts from now until July 24th, hoping to progress in phases along the way, i.e. bigger groups, football practices, 7v7 games. CIF has NOT changed the season dates yet.

Q: Since the calendar has changed my athlete mat miss practice for a vacation (June)
A: I understand, family life is very important to me and I understand the importance of family trips (I am going on one this weekend). Starting July 1st, practices are mandatory per being enrolled in summer school football. Communicate if practices will be missed, life happens, but I do not condone missing practices without notice or without valid reasons.

I hope this provides some clarity and as I get more official announcements and guidelines I will pass them along. Please forward this email to any interested parents or players wanting to join Royal Football
