Practice change for Friday and Picture Day information
Good evening everyone!
I have updated the Blast schedule to show a change to our practice this Friday, 8/30. Instead of practicing at the field, we are taking advantage of having no game on Sat and doing film study instead. The location is Tower 13 (2633 S Coast Hwy 101 in Cardiff), and will be from 4:30-6:00pm. Film review will be on their patio. Please note that only coaches, staff and players will be allowed in the film study, but you are more than welcome to grab a bite or drink in the restaurant/bar area while you wait, or feel free to drop your player off and grab some food drink with some of us once film study is over at 6pm.
This is our 1 and only time to do some film study as a team (it counts towards our allowed practice hours), so it is EXTREMELY important for your player to be there. Children are visual learners, and they gain so much by reviewing film with coaches. If for some reason you absolutely can't be there, please let Coach Chad know in advance.
Secondly, I just placed our LCCPW picture day info in the schedule. It's Sunday, 9/8 @8:50am. PLEASE arrive at least 10-15 minutes prior to that and have your order form already filled out (I will be passing those out next week). Picture Pkg L is no charge and was included in your registration dues. We will not be doing a drag and drop composite this year, so the only way your player is in the group photo is if they are present. Please note there is no make-up day scheduled, so it's very important to make the day and time scheduled.
Players need to wear their blue game jersey (tucked in), FULL PADS, game pants, game socks (pulled all the way up so we can see the MAVS logos) and cleats. Basically how they would be dressed for a game. They don't need to bring a helmet as we'll have one available for pictures.
Lastly, please remember how important it is for your player to be at EVERY practice (illness, severe injury, family emergency excluded). Consistency is the key! They learn so much each day, and can quickly fall behind if they aren't at every practice. One of the things coaches look at when they assign starters is if the player is making all the practices.
