Tomorrow night at 6:45 PM our Freshman play their last game of the Summer against Bosco Tech, & Friday will be the last day of our Youth Camp. This will mark the end of our Summer Basketball Program. It has been an outstanding Summer for all of our boys. It is a program focus to show growth & improvement every time we step on the floor, walk into our classrooms, or in life in general, and all of our boys did that this Summer. I'm extremely proud of how the Summer went for us.

I made a point of spending time watching every team practice and play this Summer and I'm proud of the work our coaches and players put in this Summer. Everyone was fantastic!

Some players work really stand out on all levels:
On the Freshman team Sam, JP, Q, & Noah C. put in great work. On the JV team Ronnie, Sam, Vince, Josh, Ryan, & Adam were outstanding. On the Varsity everyone grew so much but the players that really stood out were Andrew, Jay, James, Julius, and Lance.

If your name wasn't mentioned it doesn't mean you didn't do a great job, I could have easily listed everyone. I'm so proud of all of our young men and am excited of beginning a new year and a new season.

On Monday we begin our official Dead Period, which means our coaching staff is not allowed any basketball contact with our players for three weeks. Which is probably for the best for all involved. It's exciting to take a little time off from the game and each other to recover and recharge. In my experience both the players and coaches tend to miss each other and especially basketball and are excited to get back to work.

Our Dead Period ends August 5th, I will post any activities we will schedule after that. Of course this doesn't mean the boys shouldn't work on their games; there are plenty of opportunities to play and improve and if I come across them I will send them to you.

One of the first things we'll do after the Dead Period is have a parent meeting, so be on the lookout for that. We really would like 100% attendance at that meeting. I will give everyone plenty of notice so that you all can be there.

I would love to give a big thank you to my Coaching Staff, Coach Vela, Coach Saravia, Coach Bryan, Coach Reaves, & Coach Vest. We would have no Summer program without them.

Finally thank you to our AD Coach Farrar and our administration for their support.

Enjoy the rest of your Summer!

Peace, Love, & Basketball,

Coach Al Cuevas
