This is Coach Merriweather’s 2nd year running the El Dorado softball program. With over 15 years experience as a former collegiate player, high school player, and travel ball player. Coach Merriweather played most of her softball career playing travel ball year round, as well as playing for Rancho Alamitos HS, and Fullerton Junior College. When she wasn’t on the mound, she was playing first base. Coached by Don Sarno, Hall of Fame softball pitcher. Coach Merriweather started coaching because she loved the game and missed being on the field. With the passion still in her heart she recognized the great need and the great opportunity she would have to make a lasting impact upon a younger generation. She says she wants to teach her athletes to be fearless, be confident, and to believe in their selves no matter how challenging the situation is. In 2014 Coach Merriweather left Mater Dei High School after 8 years, and decided to open up her own business called Code Red Fastpitch training athletes specializing in pitching. She continues to coach outside of El Dorado. Coach Merriweather is in her 2nd year as the pitching coach at Fullerton College Coach Merriweather resides in Fullerton, CA with her husband Wesley, and two son’s Jordan (20) and Branson (12).
