Pioneer Jr. Varsity Baseball Fundraiser
2020 Titan Pride Baseball!
About Us
In 1959 when Pioneer High School opened its doors, Howard Pollack was hired as the first varsity baseball coach. A tradition of success, sound fundamentals, pride and commitment was started and has lasted the past 50 years. Coach Pollack guided the Titans for 16 years before turning the reigns over to his Protegé, Anthony Gonzales. Coach Gonzales, a Pioneer High School graduate from 1970, stayed at the helm for 17 years. The Pollack-Gonzalez era of 33 years produced 7 league titles (5 under Pollack, 2 under Gonzales), 14 playoff births (5 under Pollack, 9 under Gonzales). Arguably the greatest team to come through Pioneer was the '67 team that made its way to the CIF quarterfinals. Before entering the 605 league, Pioneer competed in the Whitmont, Suburban, and Del Rio Leagues, in which the Titans would go head to head with longtime rivals, the Santa Fe Chiefs. Since the end of the Pollack-Gonzalez Coaching Era, the Titans had been led by Ramon Juarez, Paul Magallanes, Bobby Ramirez, and Kevin Camacho, respectively. The current head coach, William "Mac" Mc Farland, a La Serna High School graduate, took over as head coach during the 2018-2019 school year.
