California Cruisers 16U Fundraiser

We are a 501c3 non-profit working to provide young female student athletes with the opportunity to train and play at an elite level while working toward their goal of playing at the collegiate level. *Please note that this video was filmed prior to the social distancing/stay at home orders. California Cruisers Watson 16U Premier is an elite fastpitch travel softball program that competes at the national level with the ultimate goal of helping our players achieve their dream of becoming collegiate student athletes. This year, with the right safety measures in place, we are hoping to be able to compete in our previously scheduled summer showcase and top level tournament events across the country, as we continue to work towards our goal of competing at the highest level. Although our plans have changed, we hope to still safely play in a select few showcases in different parts of the country, not to mention the events right in our own back yard of SoCal, with all precautions and recommended social distancing guidelines in place. Along with big dreams and big goals inevitably comes a big financial burden for our families. Costs for individual lessons, monthly team dues, equipment, uniforms and travel expenses can be overwhelming! In these times of uncertainty and loss of income, it can be a lot for families to bear financially. In order to help, we are fundraising for our trip to the Demarini Invitational Showcase in Kansas City held July 8-12, along with potential to help scholarship some of our players for the rest of our summer season. Our fundraising goal for this event is $13,500 which will cover the costs of airfare, hotel, and meals for all 20 members of our team. We would also like to add an additional $5000 goal to help defray expenses related to being a Cruiser for our families who have lost their incomes. About Us

We have a very special group of players this year who have truly become a family and support each other while having fun and lifting each other up in every situation. Because of these unprecedented times, they have had the opportunity to bond through virtual workouts, Zoom team meetings, and FaceTime with our Cruisers Aiga groups. Aiga means "family" in Samoan, and we are just that - a FAMILY! Unfortunately, some members of our Cruiser family are experiencing financial difficulties like so many other families across the country. This means that players from those families are at risk of being unable to travel to out of state tournaments with the team due to financial constraints. This could result in those players not having the opportunity to share their talent on the field with college coaches and potential scholarship opportunities could be lost. This team is loaded with talent! In the fall/winter season, we had a record of 22 wins, 2 losses and 4 tie games, against major competition in Florida at the D9 Sun Classic Fall Showcase, as well as in several Surf City Tourneys sponsored showcases and tournaments.
