Coach Butch is entering his 18th season coaching basketball and 8th year as Head Coach of the Lady Polar Bears. His previous coaching stops include Minerva, Warren JFK and Akron Springfield. Last season, Coach Butch earned Federal League and Northeast District coach of the year honors. During the spring of 2019, he was the Head Coach of North team in the annual Ohio North vs South game played in Columbus. Coach Butch is originally from Cortland, Ohio where he graduated from Lakeview High School in 2002. He then went on to graduate from Mount Union College in the spring of 2006 with a degree in Mathematics. Coach Butch currently teaches Algebra I at Jackson High School. He is married to his beautiful wife Taylor and they currently reside in Jackson township with their baby boy Frankie and dog Boomer.

Coach Alkire is entering her 2nd season coaching basketball. She graduated from Jackson High School in 2015, and was a part of the 2015 District Championship team under Coach Anthony Butch. Coach Alkire then went on to attend the University of Mount Union where she was a three year starter and four year letter winner for the Raiders Women’s Basketball team. In May 2019 she earned her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. Currently, she is a Title 1 teacher at Lohr Elementary in Perry Local Schools.

45th year of coaching basketball. First 30 at GlenOak. Took 3 teams to State. Won a State Championship and had one State Runner-Up. Coached 12 years at Central Catholic. And the last 3 We’re here at Jackson. Taught business courses at GlenOak for 35 years.
