While at Shenendehowa HS (Shen) Mike played short stick defensive midfield. Mike continued to play at Morrisville State for 2 years at the Division III Level. He moved to Arizona in 2009 to finish school at ASU, while he didn't play, he studied the game and continued to watch film and become a student of the game form the other side.
