XLNTbrain Baseline Concussion Testing - Important info Team, Below is a message from Ms. Medina concerning the XLNTbrain Baseline Concussion Testing. This must be completed in ordered to be cleared to play. Hello everyone, Hope all is well. In the event that your respective sport gets cleared to compete, we want to make sure we get our baseline concussion testing out of the way as it is required for all contact sports to complete for competition. All athletes (returning and new) will need to take the XLNTbrain Baseline Concussion Test. Athletes may take it at home as long as they have a desktop or laptop (which they should since we are hybrid at school). I have attached the instructions to sign in and/or register. Parents/guardians are welcome and encouraged to register for an account as well. If their son or daughter happens to sustain a concussion, this will allow them to check in on their progress as they are completing the return to play protocol. Here are a couple of things that I want to point out: 1. Since the athlete is taking the test at home, it is important that they understand that they should be the only one taking it and should not get any help, other than with the instructions. 2. The athlete needs to take the test in a quiet space, free of distractions and try their best on the test. If they perform poorly and the test comes back as invalid, they will need to set up an appointment with us to come to the ATR and re-take the exam under supervision. **Again, they will not be cleared to participate in competition until they have a valid test on file. 3. If they are having technical difficulties or do not have a laptop or desktop at home, they need to make an appointment with us to come to the ATR to take the test. Here is a video that you can share with them that provides information about the test itself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuKX3OXTKoU&feature=youtu.be Alix and I will be providing you reports on athlete status and will send out emails to those that will need to re-take. Should anyone have any questions; athletes, parents, coaches, they are more than welcome to reach out to us. Thank you all for your continued support of sports medicine and athletic training. We can't wait to be out on the field with you all once again! Take care.
