Lake Orion Dance Team Program Fundraiser
We are part of the Lake Orion Schools Community and operate as a self-funded sport. We have 4 teams: Varsity (9-12), Middle School (6-8), Elementary School (4-5) and Minis (K-3). Our season runs from spring through summer and fall into winter, ending in February for a total of 9 months! We are the only sport in Lake Orion Community Schools to offer an Elementary School Program and we couldn't do it without the support of our friends and families, our local business community and our amazing Athletic Director, Chris Bell and his assistant Sharon Rosen! Thank you for the support!
About Us
While there have been some adjustments to this year as we come out of the pandemic, all four of our teams still participated in choreography camp in early June, which was followed by our annual program picnic. Our Varsity and Middle School teams attended Dance Team Union dance camp in early July and learned 3 new game day routines and dozens of new tricks and skills! We have spent a majority of our summer preparing our Jazz and Pom competition dances and getting ready for Game Days. As we head into the Fall, we have many other team activities to look forward to including our annual fall Big Sis/Little Sis bonding event, our competition kick-off rally, team dinners, our homecoming tailgate party, our annual Holiday party and a PARENTS DANCE to be performed by our parents for their daughters at our kick off rally! All five of our teams have performance opportunities lined up to dance at LOHS and middle school football games. Lake Orion is a football town and just like our football team, we are Orion Tough. We can't wait for those Friday Night Lights! Our teams will compete in 1-4 competitions this year, depending on their level and the first one will be in November. In-person attendance may be limited but the competition may also be broadcasted and if it is, we will share the link for friends and extended family to watch! On top of competing locally, our middle school and Varsity team will travel to Orlando, FL to compete against the best teams in the country. To say we are ecstatic would be an understatement! While we love our game days and competitions, we fill our season with other activities too. Aside from the team and program bonding events already mentioned, the dancers on our two older teams take a Little Sister on one of our two younger teams so they can develop the skills to be a mentor. We also develop team building and leadership skills in all of the girls during practices. As a staff we are continually amazed at the hard work, teamwork, talent, mental toughness and kind hearts of the girls in this program - we feel blessed to work with them and be a part of their dance journey. We also know that their dance journeys would not be possible without the generosity of our sponsors! Thank you in advance for any size contribution you make. It takes a village and we are honored tho have your support!
