Harrison Stevens

Coach Stevens was born in Vail, Colorado, and grew up in Eagle. He graduated from Eagle Valley High School in 2015. He was named First-Team All Conference in the Western Slope his junior and senior baseball seasons. Stevens continued his playing career at Colby Community College in Colby, Kansas for coach Ryan Carter. During the 2016 season the Trojans won the Jayhawk West Conference title for the first time in Colby CC history. After graduating from Colby, Stevens moved on to play two more years at NAIA Division I Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri for coach Russell Brand. During his senior year at Evangel, he posted a .326 batting average, recording 47 hits in 41 games and finishing with a .472 slugging percentage. Coach Stevens received his Associate of Science degree in Business Administration and Accounting as well as an Associate of Art degree in General Studies from Colby Community College. At Evangel University he majored in Sport Management with a minor in Coaching. Stevens also spent time with the Gate City Grays in Pocatello, Idaho as well as the Ozark Generals in Ozark, Missouri during his collegiate and post-collegiate career. Stevens returned to Evangel University in the fall of 2019 as a Graduate Assistant Coach. He became the Head Coach at Battle Mountain High School in September of 2019. Stevens started working at Battle Mountain High School in January of 2020 as a Special Education Paraprofessional. After spending time as a paraprofessional and a permanent substitute, Stevens became the Business Education Instructor in January of 2021. Coach Stevens married his wife, Megan (Asmussen) Stevens on July 8th, 2021. Megan is currently the Physical Education teacher at Eagle Valley Middle School. Stevens enjoys working in the school, and seeing his athletes in the halls. He is excited to be a part of the Battle Mountain community. Coach Stevens’ purpose is to develop athletes into people who pursue excellence as leaders who love one another. Harrison’s parents, Mike and Angie, live in Eagle with his brother Ben.
David Steinbeck

David was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from North Allegheny High School in 2012, where he played football and baseball. David went on to be a student equipment manager for football at the University of Pittsburgh. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Communication. Although he did not play collegiate baseball, he continued his playing career over the summers, playing in a competitive adult league. After working for two years in Pittsburgh, David decided to make a change and moved to the Vail Valley in the fall of 2018. He started working for a small IT company for a year but moved onto snowboarding instructor at Beaver Creek. He eventually found his place in the school district at Battle Mountain High School, first as a permanent substitute and then as the distance learning coordinator. He has a passion for baseball and wanted to become a coach to bring that passion to the players. Although this is his first season coaching, he is extremely excited and eager to bring his knowledge and passion for the game to the Battle Mountain baseball program. He is ready to help grow and develop the players not only as athletes but as young men as well.
