Proud Grandfather of 8 beautiful Grandchildren. Love my family unconditionally ❤️ Head coach of J.W Sexton Big reds 2018-present *2004 Freshman Defensive coordinator/linebacker coach * 2005 JV Defensive coordinator/ linebacker coach *2006-2018 Defensive coordinator/linebacker coach/strength & conditioning coach. I have been fortunate to coach in: 6 conference championship 2007, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2017 *4 caac Blue conference championship champs....back to back undefeated seasons 2013-2014 *2 caac Red conference championship back to back 2009-2010 *3 District championship 2010, 2013, 2014 *2 Regional championship 2013, 2014 *1 state championship runner up (becoming the first city school from lansing to make it to the championship game) Lost 29-28! "WE RISE AS WE LIFT OTHERS" Throughout my coaching career, I have had several players who have earned numerous academic and football awards post season including Diploma, Degree, All-State, all region, all conference and "player of the year" recognition awards. Many of my player's have went on to play college football and some professional. Graduated from J.W. sexton Class of 1990 where he was a "1st team All-State Selection at linebacker (1989). Detroit free press & united press international. Voted by peers: *Team captain 1989 *Team Mvp 1989 Sexton Big reds *Unanimous selection 1st team all-conference all area. *Voted..Defensive player of the year 1989 mhsaa. Attended Northwood University NU 1991-1995 *earned AA & BBA Bachelors in Business Administration *Earned "freshman of the year" award *selected pre-season ALL-American 1992 NAIA DIV 1 *Unanimous selection 1st team all Midwest conference 1993-1994 *Voted by peers: Team captain 1993 &1994 *earned best Defensive skill player 1993 *Voted by coaches and peers: Team Mvp 93 & 94 *selected to play in the 1995 Snow Bowl east/west strine all star game for the Best Div 2 players in the country. *holds the record for most tackles in school history With a staggering 476 tackles! After college, Coach Davis began his coaching career in lansing's "pee wee" football league, in 1996 seeking to give back to the community and game. Knowing what both resources had provided for him. It gave him a burning desire to educate those of his knowledge of the game and life. to the next generation of passionate players. Who strive to reach there full potential as student athletes. Davis also trains, and mentors.....student athletes in the off season at the best exposure programs in the world Known as: Sound mind sound body, Rising stars, and Legacy all fine programs. Investing in our youth and building champions for life! I coach because I care! I love what I do.... most importantly.... I do what I love! Serving my purpose by giving back to my community!
