Coach Nixon is the head coach of the Boy’s and Girl’s Volleyball Programs at Godinez Fundamental High School in Santa Ana, where she has been for the past four years. She also works in the school counseling office as a Discipline Site Clerk. She is very excited to bring her 20+ years of volleyball experience to both programs. Coach Nixon attended Lakewood High School, where she played all four years as a setter and opposite hitter at the Varsity level. She was awarded team captain and MVP her sophomore through junior year. During her senior year she tore her ACL, which forced her to alter her postsecondary plans. She then went on to play at Long Beach City College for two years. During her time there, her team placed 1st in the Mount Sac tournament. A strong work ethic and positive attitude are two important traits that Coach Nixon is keen on teaching to all of her players, along with a healthy and holistic lifestyle. Her philosophy as a coach is to teach young athletes life skills and good character through competitive sport.
