Assistant Sprinters Coach

Lucas Allen starts his seventh season coaching high school football this year and his first with the Shawnee Mission East Lancers. He is currently in the Physical Education Department as a long term substitute. Lucas graduated from Kansas State University in 2014 with a degree in secondary education and immediately moved to Tampa, FL where he taught business education classes and coached tennis at Riverview High School. He accepted the role as varsity wide receiver coach and JV head coach during his first season with the Sharks and during his six years, assisted with several different position groups on both sides of the ball, including special teams coordination. Lucas took charge of administrative responsibilities, day-to-day operations, player and personnel management, and enjoyed taking care of anything for the Shark Football Family. Lucas moved back to Kansas upon completion of his wife Jessie's doctorate program and once they found their home in KC, started substitute teaching in the area. Lucas and Jessie have a two year old son, Kylo and enjoy spending time outdoors, usually staying busy with family and friends in the area.

SHAWN HAIR – Coach Hair enters his 36th season as a head high school coach and his 28th season as the boys’ varsity basketball coach at Shawnee Mission East High School in the Kansas City area. Shawn has recorded over 475 wins as a head high school coach - placing 2nd, 3rd and 4th, in the largest classification (6A) in Kansas. Shawn was selected 2006 KC Metro Coach of the Year after guiding the Lancers to a 2nd place finish at the state tournament. Shawn was also selected 2007 Sunflower Coach of the Year, guiding the Lancers to a Sunflower league title and the second best record (20-2) in school history. In 2009, the Lancers took third in State and won the Sunflower League for the second time in three years. Shawn was also selected as the 2009 Johnson County Coach of the Year. In 2013 - Coach Hair led the Lancers to the best overall win total in school history -(21-4) and the Lancers took 4th in state that year as well. Shawn has coached numerous college players in his 35 year career, including 10 Division 1 players. Before Shawnee Mission East, Shawn was a head basketball coach in Missouri for eight years – two at King City High School, two at Branson High School, and four at Ozark High School, guiding Ozark High School to a 47-11 record over his final two seasons. Coach Hair also has been an assistant coach for football for over 30 years. He has coached varsity defensive backs and running backs and is currently the head freshman football coach. Coach Hair holds a BS and MEd from Missouri State University. He attended Rockhurst High School in Kansas City. Shawn is married to Jennifer and they have 4 children - Luke is a KCMO Police officer, Grace is a Senior at Missouri State, Annabelle is a 8th grader at St. Peter’s School, and Caroline a 4th grader at St. Peter’s School. Shawn, Jennifer and their family love to travel, coach his kids in sports, play golf and spend time together being active.
