Fairfield, CA — Fairfield, CA - The Vanden Boys Volleyball team faced off against River Valley High School for their first home game of the season. The Vikings stayed strong and came out the winners, beating River Valley 3-2 (25-22, 25-23, 17-25, 20-25, 15-9). Setter Tavas Spencer had 31 assists along with 4 aces. Middle Blocker Ifeanyi Onwuazombe had 6 kills and 5 blocks. Outside Hitter Kyle Yabut had 8 kills. Libero Vincent Mercado racked up 19 digs. The Vikings will play at home again this Thursday against Monterey Trail High School.

Benicia, CA — The returning SDL champions started their season off with a 3-0 victory in non-league competition against Benicia High School. Junior middle blocker Andre Aguilera led the Vikings with 8 kills, 2 digs, and a block. Sophomore outside hitter Kyle Yabut added 5 kills, 3 aces, and 2 digs. Returning All League junior Christian Ting came in strong with 4 kills and 2 aces. Sophomore setter Tavas Spencer controlled the offense with 16 assists. The Vikings start league play against Bear Valley Tuesday, Feb 28th.
