Fairfield, CA — The #20 SJS Vikings defeated the #10 SJS Monterey Trail Mustangs 3-1 (20-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-21) in a showdown between the Metropolitan Conference League's top two teams. It was a huge night for the Vanden Senior's final home league game. The Vikings are graduating 9 seniors from this team. For the senior class - Setter Ryan Castro had 3 sets and 1 dig, OH Christian Ting had 10 kills, 5 digs, DS Jaiden Borja had 3 digs, Libero Dylan Hoang logged 13 digs, OH Andre Aguilera had a season high 20 kills, 9 digs, MB William Iheanacho had 9 kills and 6 blocks, Oppo Dallas Pabon had 3 kills and a block. Oppo Kaleb Munstermann chipped in 3 kills. Serving specialist Jared Santos had an efficient night of serving with only 1 error on the night and great passing. The Vikings travel to Laguna Creek on Tuesday the 23rd to face the #3 Metro team.

Fairfield, CA — Vanden had a very balanced night of offense with 9 players logging 2-4 kills. Middle blockers Dallas Pabon, William Iheanacho, and Ifeanyi Onwuazombe each had 4 kills. Ryan Castro and Tavas Spencer shared the offense with 13 and 12 assists respectively. Vincent Mercado led the defense with 5 digs while Jonah Victorio, Andre Aguilera, and Kyle Yabut each had 4 digs. Fairfield, CA — The Vikings defeated the American Canyon Wolves in 3 straight sets Monday night (25-22, 25-20, 25-19). Yesterday marked the first time in 4 weeks that the Vikings had their full team back after recovering from illness. It was great for team morale to have all of our players on the court and on the sideline. Senior OH Christian Ting had a team high 8 kills, 1 ace, 1 block and 9 digs. Jr. MB Ifeanyi Onwuazombe hit .700 with 7 kills on 10 attempts no errors. Senior MB Dallon Pabon bounced back with 4 kills on only 7 attempts. Senior libero Dylan Hoang had a solid night of serve receive to go with his 15 digs. Setters Tavas Spencer and Ryan Castro combined for 34 assists on a night where the Vikings had an efficient .350 hitting percentage for the night. The Vikings travel to Burbank High today for league competition.

Fairfield, CA — Vanden was able to shut out Burbank High School by a score of 3-0. With Junior Tavas Spencer out with a small injury, Senior Dylan Hoang did an outstanding job filling in with 15 assists. Other setters were able to get some work in with Jr. Jonah Victorio logging 6 assists to go along with 3 digs. Sr. Ryan Castro also spread the ball with 6 assists, 2 digs, and 2 aces. MBs Dallas Pabon and Ifeanyi Onwuazombe had a huge wall at the net with 6 blocks each to go along with a combined 10 kills. The Vikings had a season high 29 digs with Vincent Mercado and Jaiden Borja leading the team with 5 digs each. The Vikings will play this weekend at the Bishop O'Dowd Dragon Invitational.

The Vikings are now 9-0 in league play after a strong performance from Jr. William Iheanacho. The first year middle blocker had 5 kills and 2 blocks. Sr. Erick Yang had a season high 4 kills, 2 aces, and a block. Ryan Castro ran the Viking offense with 22 assts. Jr.Jaiden Borja had a team high 7 digs. The Vikings travel to St Patrick for non league play on Tuesday.
