Brett Batey defeated SJH line #3 player for our lone singles point, out of 9. Double faired better, picking up 5 additional sets, Cole Cisakowski with Gary Davidson taking 2 of 3, narrowly losing to the line #1 doubles, 4 - 6. Very bright spot today, was Brock Bowman with Zach Champine, who swept all 3 sets, earning them both MVP's of today's match. We will take a day off tomorrow and regroup next week,league play starts 2 weeks from today, vs SM.

Mission Viejo, CA — JSerra traveled to Saddleback CC to play our cross town rivals, St Margarets. The last time JSerra played here, we narrowly escaped with an epic CIF semi final battle, vaulting the Lions into their first ever CIF Championship game. Today offered a less dramatic scenario, but Coach was happy with the 13 to 5 victory. The Lions doubles teams swept 8 of the 9 sets played and singles added the additional 5. Lions duos sharing MVP honors are Brock Bowman with Zac Champine and Cole Cisakowski with Gary Davidson. The Tartans have a very formidable #1 singles player with a legitimate double digit UTR while their #1 doubles team was also strong...the scores don't show it, but, a few of the doubles sets could have gone either way. Logan Assad/Nicky Dubrow captured 2 sets, dropping their only set at line #1, 4-6. Brett Batey took 2 of 3 singles sets as did Jona Uhmans. "Our doubles combos are starting to jell" says Coach Orahood, and they will be well-tested Wednesday at home vs Portola then Thursday vs San Juan! Come out and join us! Go Lions!

Rancho Santa Margarita, CA — Both Miles McClain and Preston-Fickes Drisdale picked up MVP honors with singles wins vs. Santa Margarita’s #3 player this afternoon. Kudos to Michael Woodward who played that same guy tough in a 4-6 match, easily one of his best efforts of the season.

San Juan Capistrano, CA — From zero to hero: one day after suffering a humiliating defeat 2-16 vs Mater Dei, JSerra’s JV tennis team avenged that loss with a 9-9, 75-70 game count win this afternoon!

Fountain Valley, CA — Going in a bit short-handed today, Mater Dei handed our JV tennis team a 16-2 loss at Los Caballeros. Justin Que and Jeff Tang won a 2nd round doubles set, while Preston Fickes-Drisdale won a 3rd round singles set.

San Juan Capistrano, CA — JV went from 3 wins in our first meeting to winning 7 sets this afternoon vs OLu. So even though it shows as a 7-11 loss on the scoreboard, it’s a win in Coach Orahood’s eye.

Anaheim, CA — Orange Lutheran soundly defeated JSerra this afternoon, 15-3.

Fullerton, CA — Some great efforts today in a losing cause. Our #1 singles player, Esteban Johnson, stayed at JSerra to help out varsity. We lost 2 sets with big leads 😱, and 2 tight tie-breaker sets! All things considered, we should do much better when we play them after spring break.

San Juan Capistrano, CA — JV boys lost to a very strong Santa Margarita team this afternoon: 2 - 16. Along with our MVP guys: Daniel, Noah and Max, there were a few more tough sets played today.

Bellflower, CA — JV is victorious in its first Trinity League match, beating St. John Bosco by 1 game!!! after tying sets 9-9.

Irvine, CA — Our JV team was clearly outmatched today, despite some good efforts.
