The Bears lost to Birmingham Groves in the District Final 54-44. Our girls fell behind early and were down 30-20 at halftime. After an up & down 3rd quarter & trailing 41-29, Berkley was unable to recover. The Bears played hard the entire game but it just wasn’t enough. Scoring for BHS, Ashley Loon 18, Ry Sanom 8, Ava Beard 7, Maeve Nolan 4, Aurora Sousanis 4 & Sammi Withrow had 3 points. The Bears finish the season 11-6.
The Bears beat Seaholm 49-40 in a physical battle. Berkley got off to a good start and lead 17-7 after 1-quarter. The Bears held off the Maples who battled hard and got within 3-points late in the 3rd quarter. With the ‘W,’ our Bears are in the District Final Fri. vs Groves. Scoring for Berkley, Ashley Loon 15, Ryleigh Sanom 14, Tessa Voss 9 (7-8 free throws), Sammi Withrow 8, Ava Beard 2 & Maeve Nolan 1point
Bears drop their regular season finale to a good Lake Orion team, 47-26. The Dragons defense was sound & the Bears couldn’t find much offense particularly in the 2nd half. Ashley Loon scored 11 of her 15-points in the 1st half. Berkley played without starting Point Guard, Ryleigh Sanom for the second time in the last 3-games. Sanom has been averaging 11.9 ppg and the Bears could have used her offense along with her energy. Loon lead the Bears with 15-points while Ava Beard, Maeve Nolan had 4 each & Tessa Voss added 3 points.
Seniors, Ryleigh Sanom & Tessa Voss finish their HS home careers with a Win. The team battled hard in the second half to come from an 11-point halftime deficit to beat OAA Red opponent Southfield A&T, 46-40. Scoring for our Bears, Ashley Loon 16, Ryleigh Sanom 15, Ava Bead 8. The Bears are now 10-4 overall. Last division game on the road Thurs. at Lk. Orion.
