Great First Home Track Meet for the Dons

Verdugo Hills High School track and field made history this week. Verdugo Hills was able to hold their first Home League Meet to the season after a few unforeseen events. The team has been able to compete at all levels and field athletes in almost all of the events. One field event stands out. The highlight of the day was the return of the Pole Vault, an event that has been absent from the Dons' competitive lineup for almost 10 years. This full-scale participation across all disciplines marks a significant milestone for the program as it continues to build momentum in the 2026 outdoor season.

Amazing showing for our Dons! This year we have many new additions to the Varsity and Frosh Soph levels. We have a very competitive team and with all the new freshman, we can expect to experience success for the next few years. Here are the scores for this week's track meet:

The bottom of the lineup helped Verdugo Hills Junior Varsity Jv Dons capture a 9-6 victory over Garfield on Wednesday. Olmedo, Bionson, and Mares combined for five of the team's eight hits in the victory. They scored three runs and drove in five.

2 Verdugo Hills Varsity Var Dons Pitchers Rally Together In Shutout Victory Against Garfield

Verdugo Hills Varsity Var Dons defeated Garfield 2-0 on Wednesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Smith and Iafrate each pitched for Verdugo Hills Varsity Var Dons in the game. Smith induced a fly out from Zamudio to get the last out.
