Tough Loss

The Truman Tigers are dealt their first loss of the season! In short, the Tigers lacked consistency and execution! The Tigers showed some positivity during the game but the Titans were able to capitalize on the Tigers mistakes all night! The Tigers had 3 costly penalties that were very much so questionable! Head Coach Ben Johnson after the game stated, “you cannot make the amount of mistakes we made tonight and expect to win a game! CB south took advantage of every mistake we made tonight. Our defense gave our offense several opportunities to stay in the game but our offense sputtered due to lack of execution! We have to take advantage of turnovers and stops that our defense creates in order for us to be successful! We were in the 22% tonight with the lack of execution and unnecessary penalties! We are a team that finds success when we are in the 78%! We gotta get better and it will start with practice this upcoming week”.

Tigers win

Coming of a 3-7 season the Tiger defense made a statement early in the game! They opened the starting drive with an interception by Rondell Bradley Jr. the next possession the offense gave up a safety! The Eagles took a 2-0 lead! However, after a punt block the Tiger offense found pay dirt with a 3 yard Touchdown run by Rondell Bradley dragging a defender into the end zone!

Pennsbury 7v7

The Truman Tigers ended their summer 7v7 play traveling to Falcon country on a pretty hot Tuesday afternoon. The Tigers defense led by Wesley Miller started out slow. However, after giving up 2 touchdowns the Tigers defense who plays by the mantra “SEATBELT” clicked in. The Tiger defense gave up two touchdowns and proceeded to shut the Falcons out for the remainder of the game. The Tigers defense finished with 4 interceptions and put the seatbelt on the Falcons offense and they could not find pay dirt for the remainder of the game. At only 5-11 125 pounds, Freshman Raheem Bradley while small in stature made his presence known on both sides of the ball. Raheem plays the safety and slot receiver position very well. He is a super talented player and has an impressive football IQ. His ability to utilize technique makes up for his lack of size. Senior CB Wakee Giddens played lock down defense against the Falcons with several pass breakups and a big interception to stop a falcons drive in the red zone. El Vines also had an interception on a surging Falcon drive on the 4 yard line!

Ridley 7v7 Shootout

The Truman Tigers got off to a slow start at the beginning of the tournament! Defensively under the leadership of Wesley Miller the Tiger defense begin to find its rhythm! Offensively our Quarterback Marshall Kennedy locked in and moved the offense up and down the field consistently! Sophomore QB Billy had a phenomenal day as he showed that he has a great understanding of our offense and he takes what the defense gives us! Big congrats to Goldey our Freshman QB who is picking up the offense very well and was able to get the offense in a rhythm! Incoming freshman Raheem Bradley showcased his skills at slot, safety and DB! Keep an eye out for Raheem as he is poised to make an impact as a freshman! Great team effort! The Tigers finished the tournament 3-1! Great job by all players and our entire coaching staff!! Until next time!
