Eagles Win Season Opener

The Centennial Eagles went on the road to Clewiston in Week 1 of the regular season and pulled out a 16-9 victory. Both defenses played tough football in the low scoring contest. The Eagles defense played lights out, forcing multiple turnovers, including 2 INT's by Ricky Cooper and Chandler Perceval. The defense held the Tigers to 1 score, while the Tigers tacked on 2 points via safety on an errant punt snap out of the back of the endzone. The DL had a great night, creating penetration and disrupting the running attack of the Tigers. Defensive standouts included LB Judah Michel with multiple sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery, DJ Dunbar with a fumble recovery, and Safety Anthony Saget with 3 TD saving tackles.
