The lady cougars came out strong with big offensive plays led by QB Shealyn Pistilli throwing 5 touchdowns . 2 receiving tds by Emily Nuno, 1 to Payton Dahlstedt another to Roxanne Kimball for her first of the season and another added by Sophie Trejo. Defensively the cougars were lead by great team defense . Interceptions by Emily Nuno , jimena ortiz and Eileen Ayala both getting there first interceptions of the year. Looking to keep it rolling next week .
Tough loss. EHS was challegenged with crowding, not keeping sticks down and giving to much space to opposing team.
Cougars get in the Win column with a big WIN in tonight's matchup with Coastal Academy. The lady cougars put up 25 points offensively lead by QB Shealyn Pistilli completing all her passes and throwing 2 touchdowns first one to Avery Jorgensen getting the cougars on the board 6-0. Shealyn also ran in a touchdowns . Rushing for the cougars and also running in a touchdown was Sofia Trejo and rushing for over 50yds. Top receiver was Emily Nuno with some quality catches and a touchdown as she moved the ball down the field . Defensively it was an all around team effort being stubborn and not allowing any points . Interceptions by Shealyn Pistilli and Berenice Hernandez, great rushing up front from Roxanne Kimball and Solid play from defensive Captain Payton Dahlsted. Overall everyone contributed in the cougars first Win of the season.
Offensively for the Cougars the team is starting to really come together as a team led by Shealyn Pistilli finding an early weapon in Payton Dahlstedt with a pass for a 15 yard touchdown scoring her 2nd touchdown of the season and making the extra point was Laila Martinez with a nice catch . Avery Jorgensen and Sophia Trejo also contributing on offense with some nice plays. Priscilla Delgado also with a few catches out of the center position. Defensively we played strong with Sophia Trejo setting the tone with great blitzing . Key plays was an interception by Shealyn Pistilli, and the lady cougars all around are out there giving it their the whole game led by returning defensive player of the Year. Jimena Ortiz. Very excited to see what these cougars can do as the season progresses.
