At the Class 2A Regional at Carriage Greens in Darien, the Warriors came up just short of advancing as a team, shooting a 331 to finish in 4th place (top 3 teams advance). The silver lining for the Warriors were the performances of seniors Mina Shyam (74) and Siya Sohal (80), who finished in the top 10 individual qualifiers and advance to the Sectional on Monday, 10/5 at Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park.

It was a record setting day for senior Mina Shyam at Glendale Lakes Golf Club in Glendale Heights on Saturday. The Warrior's senior shot a personal best 5-under-par 65 to win the individual title at the Naperville North Rosie Invitational by 3 strokes. Mina's round was incredibly consistent with only one bogey on the card all day, But it was the birdie-birdie-birdie finish on her last 3 holes of the day that sealed the title for over the rest of the 87-player field.
Metea Valley may have won the DVC title this year, but Waubonsie Valley seniors Mina Shyam and Siya Sohal stole the spotlight at Phillips Park GC at the conference tournament. The two senior leaders for the Warriors tied for first place with matching 77s to top the entire 40-player field. Since someone had to be crowned the individual champion, the teammates had to go head-to-head in a sudden death playoff. On the first playoff hole, Mina rolled in her birdie putt to take the first place medal.
The Warriors went on the road to Orchard Valley to face off against the 1st-place Metea Valley Mustangs on Wednesday, Despite a strong showing, the Warriors fell 157-171. Leading the Warriors were Siya Sohal with a season-low 37 (+1) and Mina Shyam with a 38 (+2). Sophomore Olivia Sheffler also shot a season-low score, finishing with a 47. Nitya Thapar rounded out the scoring for the Warriors (49). The Warriors drop to 4-3 in DVC play with only one conference match remaining, next Monday at White Eagle vs. Neuqua Valley.
