We traveled to Maur Hill for a road matchup and unfortunately never quite found the rhythm we were looking for.
Thursday night was a long one. With the varsity game not getting started until close to 8 p.m., we knew it was going to be a late night, and the boys ended up giving us a little extra soccer with a game that went into double overtime.
We finally got a beautiful night for soccer Tuesday—and maybe just as importantly, a decent 6 p.m. start time—as we hosted Topeka Hayden.
Tuesday night was a meaningful matchup for me personally as we welcomed Maranatha Christian Academy to Tonganoxie. MCA is my alma mater and the place where I began coaching high school soccer 12 years ago. I spent my first two years coaching there before coming to Tonganoxie. We've matched up many times over the years, but it's always special competing against a program that played such an important role in the beginning of my coaching career.
