Big strides tonight!
Tonight our ladies arrived and played some softball. So many things clicked into place for them. It has not been easy in getting here. Both of our pitchers are out, so Carly & Maya stepped up to the mound and shared the duties on their first debuts tonight. This is NOT an easy ask. They did it without hesitation for their team. Here’s what else we saw tonight. Ava snagged some screamers down 3rd for outs. Marlaya made phenomenal contact each at bat. Emma made a great dig at first and fielded flawlessly when she relocated to short. Hubby put the ball into play each time forcing Chico to get her out. Vanessa hit the dirt again in field and got aggressive at bat. Melyiah is reacting quicker to balls out of the zone and keeping them in front of her while behind the plate. Carly had her usual stellar fielding when at short and put the ball into play at bat, making a great adjustment to specifically find the bottom third and drive the ball into the outfield. Rachel made great choices when getting the ball in and drove a beautiful oppo shot to drive in our run. Little miss Lanna stepped in with only 2 practices at the varsity level and captured some outs for us while staying aggressive with her bat at the plate. Jaylee and Ari talked and yelled to their teammates from the dugout the entire game, sometimes even making them laugh to stay relaxed. We attacked the ball at bat and forced them to make plays. This was a TEAM effort. Every…single…player added to our success. Now the goal is to add to this with continued hustle, effort, and minor little individual tweaks to improve. We lost the stinking game by runs, but we won in every other area. Proud of you ladies and your heart tonight-we got to enjoy some softball! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
