Read and Pray About:

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Matthew 6:19‭-‬21 NIV

Read and Reflect:

I took this picture this past Friday night. I am the biggest thing in the picture. The second biggest thing, is a very bright street light above my head. The third biggest thing, is a very, very, small light to the right of me in the background.

That very small light is a star. In reality, it is many times larger than the street light or myself.

This can be often how skewed our view of the world and God is.

The picure of myself represents how we see ourselves and often how what is happening to us we can view as the biggest and most important things there are.

The streetlight represents how we often see worldly things as so bright and important to have, to own, to be recognized for.

The small star represents the reality of God and his power. We can often put thoughts of him aside in our day to day lives. We can often forget how powerful and all encompassing God is. The reality is God is inconceivably powerful! God created ALL! God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent! This means God is All Powerful, All Knowing, and Everywhere!

This all represents having a daily perspective based on eternity vs. what is temporary.

1) What do you think about most of the time (how you compare to others, how you are appreciated or liked by others, your cool shoes, car, clothes, God and his plan for your life, how much you are pleasing God)?

2) Are the top things you think about temporary or eternal things?

3) What will you do to focus on eternal things more?

Overtime:

Review the Attributes of God.
