Click the link below for video highlights of our 24-22 heart breaking rivalry game loss to Temescal Canyon last week.  This loss was very disappointing, but we are not discouraged about this group at all.  It has been an honor to coach all of the players on this Frosh/Soph Roster as young Tigers.  I am confident that if they work hard, stay together, and continue to pursue excellence and integrity in their lives, they will accomplish great things both on and off the field between now and 2025…possibly adding their team year to the Champions wall in Westphal Stadium!

Please read the important details for this week below:

  • Our Frosh football season has come to an end.  However, just as in life, one season ending is also another season beginning.  The seasons of life change, but they lead to new opportunities to do something good.

  • Select players will be contacted today about being promoted to the Varsity playoff roster.  If you are not contacted, you were not selected.  Please do not feel sad if you are not brought up.  This decision is being made by coaches in the best interest of everyone.  It does you no good to spend 3 hours per day at practice if you are not able to contribute, engage and participate.  If you are contacted, you are not required to go up.

  • 6th period Athletic Football never ends as long as players are on the team.  We will continue doing 6th period activities the entire school year (study hall, weight lifting, speed/athletic training, and team meetings where we will teach lessons designed for social and emotional growth)

  • I love and respect every player on this team.  However, there will be some that have decided that football is not going to be something they want to continue.  Please communicate with me about this…there will be no anger or shame at all.  Please note that players cannot switch out of 6th period football until the end of the semester.  This will also most likely result in schedule changes in multiple classes.

  • On Monday, we will do team activities in room 813 and then go clean out the locker room to collect all items from lockers.  Bring your travel bag to school to pack it.

    • 1.  Please wash all cloth equipment (pants, jerseys, belts).  The socks, spirit packs and mouth pieces are yours.

    • 2.  Please wipe down all pads (thigh, hip, knee, tail) and travel bag with a clean wash rag.

    • 3.  Shoulder pads and helmets are sent in for reconditioning in the offseason so they don’t need to be cleaned.

    • 4.  Pack your travel bag with ALL equipment that was checked out to you.  Players/families will pay fines for any missing equipment.  Failure to pay fines will exclude players from all school activities including playing another sport in addition to preventing them from graduating from Elsinore or checking out of our school to attend another.

  • On Tuesday, all players who are switching into another sport will turn in their football equipment.  They need to communicate with me which sport it is, and get permission from that coach to join their athletics class.  Players can only switch their 6th period class to another sport if the coach is on campus and has a section of 6th period athletics.  For example, if the coach is a walk on (not a teacher at our school), they have a different sport coach run a 6th period class and that coach has them on the roster but does not instruct them, which leads unsupervised young athletes/behavior problems.

  • On Wednesday, all players staying in football and not on the playoff roster will turn in their equipment.

I would like to thank all players, coaches, and families from the bottom of my heart for your cooperation and support this season.  Although there were many challenges of all kinds, I am proud to have faced them head on together as a family.  I feel so much more alive to be back in school and to have had a full football experience with some awesome student athletes.  Stay in touch with any questions or just to check in.

I Love you Tigers!
