Service Hours Opportunity - November, 29th, 4 - 10pm
Hello Lions Football Families,
We have begun to look at Service Hours opportunities for our players, which also allow some team building, while giving back to the community.
If you already have projects and opportunities that your son is pursuing, either through campus ministries, your church group or local cities; GREAT! I encourage the boys to continue doing that.🙏🏽
As a football program, we will explore what is available during the off season to bring us together.
Here’s our first one:
Samaritan’s Purse – Operation Christmas Child
Churches and groups of all sizes collect boxes from their communities, filled with gifts for boys & girls ages 0-15.
Before the millions of shoebox gifts collected are shipped around the world, each one has to be carefully inspected and made ready for international shipment by volunteers.
Tens of thousands of volunteers serve annually at eight processing centers across the U. S. after National Collection Week (the third week of November) and into December.
All volunteers must be at least 13 years of age.
At least one chaperone 18 years of age or older for every four youth is required (youth volunteers include any volunteers between the ages of 13-17.)
We have secured a reservation, to take a large group on Monday, November 29th, from 4pm to 10pm.
Total number of service hours will be 8. (Includes drive time.)
There will be breaks and you can bring snacks, water and food.
Below is the SignUp link. If you or your player are interested, PLEASE respond by Friday, November, 26th. I can adjust the reservation up or down, however, I do need an accurate headcount.
Parents, we will need chaperone’s and transportation to the center.
