It was a great day to be a Lion as the frosh soph boys team beat Canyon 15-3! It was a well played match with strong net play in the doubles team and some great rallies from the singles players. All 10 players won a set of tennis today. Way to go!
The Lions faced the wolverines today with dry courts and a little bit of sun peaking through. The lions were defeated 3-15, but many great points were played. Vince played at line 1 singles today losing his sets but taking 2 of 3 to tie breakers. Owen debuted at singles fighting through many long points and showing off quick feet and speed on the court. Alex and Scotty won our only set in doubles, 6-4. Shout out to Alex on his birthday too! Leo won 2 of 3 sets winning his first 6-1 and his second set 6-5 in a tie break. The Lions take on Santa Margarita tomorrow at 1.
It was a very windy Friday afternoon in Fountain Valley, which kept the boys on their toes throughout the match. Despite the averse weather, it was nice to be dealing with wind instead of rain! Niko played at the #1 singles position winning 6-2, 6-1. Michael A. and Alex Gibson both played for us today winning two sets each, Michael 6-2, 6-3 and Alex winning 6-3. Alex and Santiago won their last set 6-3. Wesley and Shaunt won 2 of 3 sets, winning 6-4 and winning their final set in a tie breaker 6-5 with a tie break score of 7-5. Both Shaunt and Wes were complimented by the opposing players parent saying the boys played excellent tennis, and that no team had been able to beat the Barons doubles team! Way to go gentlemen!

The Jserra frosh soph boys tennis team had their first win of the season today against the Sage Hill Lightning! This is the first win of the season and an awesome win captured on our home courts! Way to go lions! The singles swept all 9 sets with wins coming from Niko winning all 3 sets 6-0! Leo won all 3 sets as well going 6-1, 6-1 and 6-3. Calvin won 2 of 2 6-0 and 6-2. Christopher Kempf pinch hit for us, winning his set 6-2. In doubles, Kon and Scotty brought the first doubles win, winning their match 6-4. Finally, Owen and Santiago also helped with an additional point from the doubles winning their set 6-3. Wes, Cruz and Landon fought hard in their matches with many long rallies and impressive match play. The team showed focus in trying to get first serves in, increased communication in doubles and support for their teammates. Great win today boys, and let's bring the Lion fighting spirit against Foothill tomorrow!
