OK Red Postseason Tournament & End of conference recap

The varsity boys competed at Thornapple Pointe this past Tuesday in the OK Red Postseason Tournament. There was a lot at stake for four of the teams in the OK Red. Heading into the tournament, there were two teams tied for 1st in the conference, Rockford & Hudsonville, and two teams tied for 3rd in the conference, Caledonia & West Ottawa. Hudsonville won its 2nd straight OK Red conference title with a 1st place finish at the tournament. Caledonia and West Ottawa shot the same score, a 328, so as usual, we went to the 5th scorer, which was a 92, shot by both WO and Cal players, so we went to the 6th scorer to determine the tie-breaker. Both 6th players shot a 97. Because this was for 3rd place, there was no tie-breaker, so Caledonia and West Ottawa took a T4 finish at the OK Red Postseason tournament.

RAM Invitational Results

This was our first time playing the RAM Invitational at Cedar Chase Golf Club. Results are posted below.

Final Jamboree Results (Kaufman)

The varsity boys golf took home a 6th place finish at their final jamboree. With 75% of the OK Red Season completed, the Caledonia Boys are currently tied in 3rd place in the OK Red Conference. The final results will be posted after their OK Red Postseason Tournament on Tuesday, May 23rd at Thornapple Pointe Golf Club.

Grand Haven's Jamboree Results

The varsity boys played at The Meadows Thursday afternoon... Hopefully this won't be our last time playing at The Meadows this year. I'm glad we were able to get on the course, but we will be back there on June 9th and 10th for the State Finals. Keep the ball in the fairway and learn the speed of the greens... It's oversimplified, but that's how you score at The Meadows. The heather/long grass is only getting thicker and the greens were rolling fast with the sun baking them all day. It wasn't our best showing as a team, but we had 2 golfers finish in the top 10. Jacob Byanski finished T5 with a 41 and Sam Baldwin was right behind him with a T8 finish and a 42. There's only 1 more jamboree left and the post season tournament in the OK Red conference and currently the boys are 3rd in the conference. We need a strong finish at Kaufman on Tuesday and an even better finish at the post season tournament on Tuesday, May 23rd.
