Midweek Magic in Metuchen

The SMS Boys Blue Basketball team improved to 9-1 on the season on Wednesday as they kept the Metuchen Bulldogs at an arm's length for a 77-50 road win. Coach Donegan challenged his team pre-game by stating "Find me a great player that doesn't get to the free throw line. They don't exist." The whole team answered the call and was led by 8th grade co-captain Jason Berescky who delivered a signature performance. Jason scored a season high 31 points on relentless drives to the paint that led to a middle school record 17 free throw attempts. The Bombers look for their tenth win in a row as they come home on Monday to face South Plainfield at 4:30pm at the SMS Gym.

Just Another Manic Monday

However, that was a close as they would get as Trevor Yan and Aaren Cirino led the Bombers back with tough assists and rebounding. The Bombers cruised to victory as Carson McKenzie put the finisher touches on the game with an ankle breaker that sent the bench into a frenzy. The Bombers move to 8-1 on the season.
