San Jose, CA — The Vikings battled the Bellarmine College Prep Bells for the CIF NorCal D4 Championships but came up short Saturday night 1-3 (25-23,20-25,24-26,13-25). The Vanden Boys volleyball team finished the season with an overall record of 27-13. The 2nd round of sections is the furthest the team has ever played so for the Vikings to play not only in the Section Finals but also the NorCal Finals was quite an accomplishment. In the Championship match, Christian Ting had 13 kills, Dylan Hoang had 8 digs, Dallas Pabon had 6 kills, Setter Tavas Spencer had 36 assists and 2 aces, William Iheanacho had 7 kills and Andre Aguilera had 9 kills.

Libero Dylan Hoang logged 13 digs. Middle Blocker Willian Iheanacho had 13 kills and 3 blocks. Oppo Dallas Pabon had 12 kills.

Fairfield, CA — The Vanden boys' volleyball team defeated Ripon Christian 3-1 (21-25,25-18,25-14,25-22) Tuesday to advance to the SJS semifinal match. OH Christian Ting had a huge game with 8 aces, 20 kills, and 3 digs. Libero Dylan Hoang led the Vikings defense with 6 digs and solid serve receive all game to go with his 2 aces. Fist year player, Dallas Pabon had an efficient night with 9 kills. Setter Tavas Spencer spread the offense around with 35 assists along with 5 digs. The #2 SJS seed Vikings host the #3 seed Lathrop Spartans Thursday at 6pm with the winner advancing to the Section Championship on Saturday.

Jr Setter Tavas Spencer spread the offense around with 32 assists to go with his 3 blocks, 5 digs and ace. Sr OH Christian Ting had an efficient night hitting with 9 kills on 15 attempts and only 2 errors. Middle Blocks WIlliam Iheanacho and Ifeanyi Onwuazombe also had an efficient night with 7 and 8 kills respectively. Sr Opp hitter, Dallas Pabon had a great night on the right side with 8 kills and only 2 errors. The #2 seeded Vikings will host #7 Ripon Christian next Tuesday at 6pm.

Sacramento, CA — The Vikings boys volleyball team finished league play with a 3-2 (23-25, 25-20, 21-25, 25-11, 15-13) win over McClatchy. Vanden improves to 11-3 in league play and 22-11 overall. Next week the Vikings will be starting the SJS playoffs riding an 8 game win streak. Jr setter Tavas Spencer had 46 assists. Sr OH Christian Ting had 17 kills and 8 digs. Sr Oppo Dallas Pabon made some critical plays in the fifth set and put away the game with his last kill. He hit .625 with 6 kills, 1 error. Sr libero Dylan Hoang led the team in digs with 14.

Fairfield, CA — The #20 SJS Vikings defeated the #10 SJS Monterey Trail Mustangs 3-1 (20-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-21) in a showdown between the Metropolitan Conference League's top two teams. It was a huge night for the Vanden Senior's final home league game. The Vikings are graduating 9 seniors from this team. For the senior class - Setter Ryan Castro had 3 sets and 1 dig, OH Christian Ting had 10 kills, 5 digs, DS Jaiden Borja had 3 digs, Libero Dylan Hoang logged 13 digs, OH Andre Aguilera had a season high 20 kills, 9 digs, MB William Iheanacho had 9 kills and 6 blocks, Oppo Dallas Pabon had 3 kills and a block. Oppo Kaleb Munstermann chipped in 3 kills. Serving specialist Jared Santos had an efficient night of serving with only 1 error on the night and great passing. The Vikings travel to Laguna Creek on Tuesday the 23rd to face the #3 Metro team.

It was an efficient night of offense as the Vikings hit .382 for the night. Senior OH Andre Aguilera had 7 kills on 11 attempts, 5 digs, and 3 aces. Senior OH Christian Ting had 9 kills for the night with only 1 error. Jr Setter Tavas Spencer logged 22 assists with 2 kills and an ace. Senior libero Jaiden Borja led the team's defense with 8 digs to go with his 2 aces. Jr MB Ifeanyi Onwuazombe had 8 kills with only 1 error to go with his 3 blocks. OH Andre Aguilera had an efficient night hitting with 11 kills with only 1 hitting error, 14 digs, and 2 aces. OH Christian Ting added 17 kills and 19 digs. Fairfield, CA — The Vikings defeated the American Canyon Wolves in 3 straight sets Monday night (25-22, 25-20, 25-19). Yesterday marked the first time in 4 weeks that the Vikings had their full team back after recovering from illness. It was great for team morale to have all of our players on the court and on the sideline. Senior OH Christian Ting had a team high 8 kills, 1 ace, 1 block and 9 digs. Jr. MB Ifeanyi Onwuazombe hit .700 with 7 kills on 10 attempts no errors. Senior MB Dallon Pabon bounced back with 4 kills on only 7 attempts. Senior libero Dylan Hoang had a solid night of serve receive to go with his 15 digs. Setters Tavas Spencer and Ryan Castro combined for 34 assists on a night where the Vikings had an efficient .350 hitting percentage for the night. Fairfield, CA — It took Vanden 4 sets to defeat league opponent McClatchy after a really slow first set loss. The Vikings came back to beat the Lions in 4 sets (13-25, 25-19, 25-9, 25-18). Senior MB William Iheanacho had an efficient night hitting .562 with 10 kills. Jr MB Ifeanyi Onwuazombe also had an efficient night hitting .500 with 7 kills, 2 aces, and a game high 6 blocks. Jr Setter Tavas Spencer contributed 38 assists with 5 aces. Senior OH Christian Ting had a team high 14 kills to go with 2 blocks. The Vikings travel to River City on Thursday to battle another league powerhouse River City Raiders.

Senior OH Christian Ting led the Vikings with 17 kills, 7 aces, and 3 digs. Senior OP Andre Aguilera had a great defensive game with 3 blocks and 7 digs.

Fairfield, CA — Vanden Varsity Boys Volleyball beat Grant High School in 4 sets to remain undefeated in league play. After playing some of the toughest teams in Northern California over the weekend, the Vikings were well prepared to take on the strong hitters from Grant. The Vikings were able to overcome a season high in service errors with solid serve receiving from Senior Dylan Hoang to go along with his team high 5 digs. Jr Setter Tavas Spencer played an outstanding game with 34 assists, 4 aces, 4 kills, 3 blocks, and 3 digs. Senior Christian Ting led the team in kills with 13 to go along with his 4 aces.

Fairfield, CA — In its first competition playing in the Metropolitan Conference, the Vikings beat the River City Raiders by a score of 3-1. Despite missing Senior Andre Aguilera due to injury, the Vikings had a season high .320 hitting percentage. Senior William Iheanacho stepped up the offense hitting .410 with 8 kills on 12 attempts. This goes along with a season high 6 blocks. Junior MB Ifeanyi Onwuazombe had an efficient night hitting .750 with 9 kills. Senior Christian Ting had 11 kills and had some outstanding serving runs, serving 95% with 4 aces. The Vikings host Burbank on Thursday.

Fairfield, CA — Vanden Boys Volleyball finished league play with a 3-0 victory over Twelve Bridges and are the 2023 SDL/PVL Champions. The Vikings (23-5, 14-0) brought the offense to their last home league game with a team total of 37 kills. Jr Outside Hitter Christian Ting led the charge with 13 kills, 4 aces, and 7 digs. Jr Middle Blocker William Iheanacho had a very efficient night with 9 kills with only 1 error to go along with his 5 blocks. Sr Right Side hitter Kenji Arnold had 9 kills and 5 aces. Soph Setter Tavas Spencer finished with 30 assists. The Viking JV team also finished their league play undefeated.

Vacaville, CA — Vanden Boys Volleyball (25-5/11-0) remain undefeated in league play as they defeated local rivals Vacaville Christian. Jr Middle Blocker Andre Aguilera was outstanding at the service line with 9 aces to go along with his 5 digs and 3 kills. Jr. MB/OH Christian Ting led the team with 11 kills, 4 aces, 5 blocks, and 4 digs. Sr Op Kenji Arnold also helped the offense with 8 kills and 6 digs.

Lincoln, CA — The league leading Vikings defeated 3rd place Twelve Bridges in Lincoln 3-1. Jr Captain Christian Ting had a game high 14 kills, 5 blocks and 5 aces. Jr MB Andre Aguilera added 6 digs and 7 kills in only 11 attempts. Senior OP Kenji Arnold had a great defensive game with 12 digs, adding 4 aces and 5 kills. Sophomore setter Tavas Spencer had 32 assts and 5 kills. Vanden travels to Bear Valley Thursday.

Jr MB/OH Christian Ting let the team with 12 kills, 4 aces, and 4 assts. Jr Dylan Hoang was terrific at the service line with 4 aces and no errors to go along with his 4 kills. The Vikings are at home against Vacaville Christian next Tuesday.

Wheatland, CA — The Vanden boys volleyball team won their league opener 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-20) against a strong Wheatland Union team. All around defense was outstanding from the Vikings. Christian Ting led the team with 16 kills. Andre Aguilera had another strong performance with 9 kills and two digs. Tavas Spencer spread the offense around racking up 31 assists, two digs, and a block. Dylan Hoang played a consistent game in all rotations with 7 kills and 2 digs and solid serve receive. The Vikings play in the Deer Valley Invitational on Saturday.

Benicia, CA — The returning SDL champions started their season off with a 3-0 victory in non-league competition against Benicia High School. Junior middle blocker Andre Aguilera led the Vikings with 8 kills, 2 digs, and a block. Sophomore outside hitter Kyle Yabut added 5 kills, 3 aces, and 2 digs. Returning All League junior Christian Ting came in strong with 4 kills and 2 aces. Sophomore setter Tavas Spencer controlled the offense with 16 assists. The Vikings start league play against Bear Valley Tuesday, Feb 28th.

Fairfield, CA — The Vanden Boys Varsity Volleyball Team won its first playoff game in 4 sets over Mesa Verde High School. The team is advancing to the second round of the playoff tournament Outside Hitter Christian Ting led the team with 16 points and 10 kills.

Garden Valley, CA — Vanden Boys Varsity Volleyball Team clinched it’s first ever league title capping off a perfect league season by winning in three straight sets over Golden Sierra High School. The team will also be heading to its first San Joaquin Section playoff championship tournament which will begin next week. Senior Middle Blocker Matthew LeRoy led the team with multiple scores.

Fairfield, CA — Vanden Boys Varsity Volleyball Team won its final home game against Marysville High School in three straight sets in front of a huge home crowd that came to see nine senior players. It was a special night for these seniors. They were recognized and honored for their final year of their great high school volleyball journey as these seniors will be heading to the real world seeking new challenges. The family members and friends of these seniors were not disappointed. They were able to witness some great plays by these seniors. These seniors are Darius Butler, Gavin Kayas, Marlon Caballero, Morgan Brambley, Matthew LeRoy, Edwin Daugherty, Chris Chandler, Nathan Manding, and Noah Yi. Senior Captain Outside Hitter Noah Yi led the team with multiple points.

Fairfield, CA — The Vanden Boys Varsity Volleyball Team played against the Bear River High School for the second time in three weeks and cruised to a victory in three straight sets on the return of the Middle blocker Edwin Daugherty who did not play against Bear River during the first match. Co- Captain Noah Yi who also played sparingly as an outside hitter during the first match also helped the team with his usual terrific passing and hitting game. The team is currently on a seven game win streak.

Citrus Heights, CA — The Vanden Boys Varsity Volleyball winning in three straight sets over San Juan High School. The second unit of the team won two sets rather easily. Middle blocker Prinz Cruz and Outside hitter Morgan Brambley both led the team with 5 points and 4 points respectively. The team is currently on a seven game winning streak in the league.

Vacaville, CA — The Vanden Boys Varsity Team remains perfect in the league for the season. The team just took a step closer to winning the school’s first boys volleyball league title with just four games left to play by beating the second best team in the league, Vacaville Christian High School, in three straight sets. The team unveiled its relentless hitting attacks that was led by its Co-Captain Noah Yi and a terrific blocking effort by other Co-Captain Edwin Daugherty. Opposite hitter Kenji Arnold and libero Yejun Lim anchored the back court with their incredible digging and passing game. The team could not have won without its hitters, Christian Ting and Matthew LeRoy, who contributed several outstanding plays and its setter, Richard Lin, who delivered several pinpoint sets to their best hitters.

Fairfield, CA — The Vanden Boys Varsity Team won easily in three straight sets over Golden Sierra High School. Both outside hitter Noah Yi and middle blocker Edwin Daugherty had a strong game. Each led the team with 5 points with several kills. Defensive specialist Gavin Kayas also had a strong game in passing.

Marysville, CA — Vanden Boys Varsity Volleyball Team traveled to Marysville and won a three straight sets match against Marysville High School. The team is currently on four game winning streak in the league.
