Goddard, KS — The Lions look to start another win streak against their crosstown rivals, the Eisenhower Tigers! The Lions got off to a hot start and never looked back! The Lions had one of their best shooting nights as a team, knocking down 7 3-pointers throughout the game. Eisenhower tried to make a late push at the end of the 3rd quarter, but the Lions were able to rally in the 4th and won 54-44. The Lions will now set their sights on Augusta, as they travel to go and participate in the Freshman Tournament. With all of this momentum, the Lions are motivated to have a strong tournament!

Goddard, KS — The Goddard Lions looked to bounce back after a tough 2 game skid on what has been a fantastic year! The Lions started out the game well and carried that momentum through the first three quarters, building an 8 point lead going into the 4th. In the fourth quarter the Mustangs made a late push, knocking down multiple contested 3-Point shots. The Lions were able to hold on and out executed the Mustangs down the stretch to hang on to a 49-46 win! The Lions turn to face their crosstown rival next Tuesday, the Eisenhower Tigers!

Andover, KS — The Lions looked to continue their win streak against a crosstown league opponent in the Andover Trojans. The Lions got off to a quick start before the Trojans started to mount a comeback. The Lions struggled to play consistently throughout the entire game, while the Trojans played one of their best games of the year. Even with the inconsistent play, the Lions were able to put themselves in a position to win in the 4th, but unfortunately they could not over come the hot shooting of Andover in the second half. The Lions lost their first league game of the season 56-53. The Lions will look to bounce back on Thursday against their middle school rivals, the Maize South Mavericks!

Goddard, KS — The Goddard Lions were finally back in action after 3 weeks off! They faced a challenging Valley Center team who forced the Lions into overtime in their last meeting. The Lions came out to with a roaring start and were up 8-0 early! The Hornets were able to rally and forced a close back and forth game in the second half. The Lions were able to execute down the stretch and held on for a 42-39 victory! This Lions were able to shake off some rust and held on for the win. Their next game will be against another league opponent in the Andover Trojans.

Salina, KS — The Goddard Lions traveled all the way up north to Salina Central for a conference road game on Friday. Salina is always a challenging road trip but the Lions were fearless when faced with this challenge! The Lions pulled off a big road victory against the Mustangs by a score of 39-30! The Lions struggled a little early as Salina Central hit some jump shots to take an early lead. Goddard was able to mentally handle the early wave of shots from the Mustangs and tied the game up by halftime at 21 all. In the second half, the Lions defense showed up as they allowed a season low of 9 points in the entire second half! The Lions also started to execute offensively and never looked back. This was a great performance from the Lions as they improve to 6-2 on the season, and maintain their undefeated conference record of 6-0.

Goddard, KS — The Lions traveled across the highway on Tuesday night to face their cross town rivals, the Eisenhower Tigers! Rivalry games are always challenging, and this one did not disappoint. The Lions got off to a good start and carried a 29-19 lead going into halftime. The Lions struggled for moments in the second half, while the Tigers found ways to hang around in the ball game. The Tigers hit multiple contested jump shots to stay within striking distance. The Lions had a strong surge to begin the 4th quarter and found a way to hang on at the end when the Tigers made a strong push to close the game! The Lions showed a lot of toughness and competitiveness to handle the pressure put on by the Tigers and found a way to hang on for the win! This was not the prettiest of games from the Lions, but a win is a win. Especially against your rival!

Goddard, KS — The Goddard Lions started off the second half of the season with a great win over the Andover Central Jaguars by a score of 53-33. The Jaguars looked to be a challenging opponent as they entered Fridays game with a 4-1 record, with their only loss coming to Maize South by 2 points. The Lions pounced on the Jaguars early and never looked back! It was another terrific game from the Lions as a group as they played a complete offensive and defensive game! The Lions shot 52% from 2, 30% from 3, and 11 assists as a team which are all season highs! Scoring leaders for the game were Healy 17, Rudkin 10, and Watkins 10. It was another great step in the right direction for the Lions as they look towards to a showdown with their cross town rivals, the Eisenhower Tigers on Tuesday night! The Lions hope to continue their undefeated league record with a win against the Tigers!

Goddard, KS — The Goddard Lions closed out their Pre-Christmas Break schedule with a home game against the Andover Trojans. Goddard came into this game with a overall record of 2-2 and 2-0 in conference games. The Lions did not disappoint and played their best game of the season so far! They defeated the Trojans 63-29 and had contributions from everyone. The Lions had 7 players score at least 6 points in the contest! They also had a season low of 11 turnovers as a team which resulted in their highest scoring margin of the season. It was a great showing from the Lions and hopefully they will carry this momentum into their first game back after break against a tough conference opponent in Andover Central.

Valley Center, KS — The Lions were able to pull off a victory in overtime at Valley Center! In the Lions first road test of the year they were able to handle the pressure of a pesky Hornets team. The Lions started the game out slowly and then exploded in the 2nd quarter by outscoring the Hornets 23-11. This second quarter was led by Logan Davis who had 19 of the Lions 23 points, with 15 of those 19 points coming from behind the 3pt arc. It was a great test for the Lions and as they look ahead to another conference game against Andover.
