Sam won 3 sets of doubles played today, all 3 w partner Robert Thornton. They played well together w good teamwork.

Captain Sam won 2 sets today, playing once each with Alex Gibson and Michael Aceves. Sam improved his double play with good footwork today, along with his solid forehand and big serve.

Yuan “Captain Sam” Gou played a remarkable comeback tie-breaker set to win our 10th and deciding victory. He did this with a mixture of heavy topspin forehands, crazy slice backhands, and some spectacular drop shots…. plus some speed! Huge win for us!!! Sam was 100%er, winning the only set he was assigned to.

Sam came back from being down 1-5 in a long set tie-breaker to win 7-6 (7-5). This brought the match score even, 3-3 and gave us good momentum.

Sam and Andrew Whitehead won both sets played. They upset the top doubles team in round #2.

Captain Sam got tested in his 3rd set when he moved up to court # 1 and a rested doubles player came back in to play singles. (Ok’d by Coach Keith) Sam hung on to win that set 6-4 after pretty ez wins earlier: 6-2 and 6-0. Well done Sam.

Yuan “Sam” Gou won all 3 sets, including a 6-0 win over their top player, who could not handle Sam’s heavy topspin shots. His lop-sided wins helped give us enough games, that we would have won the match, if tied, on game count.

Sam played doubles with Jordan to pick up our only doubles win in the 3rd round.

Yuan SAM Gou went 3 for 3 at #5 singles, then stepped up to play a 4th set for Lucas at the #3 spot, and pounded forehands to finish out that set 6-0. Sam played and won 9 sets of tennis in 2 days! Outstanding effort.

Sam Gou “tuned his guy like a fiddle” playing smart tennis, mixing heavy topspin with cutting slices in his own stylish way of playing… he just keeps on winning! This 6-1 win gave us the 1st set win of the long afternoon.

Yuan SAM Gou was up 5-3 vs their #1 player when we had to stop. That would have been 2 sets in the bag for him. Good job today Sam.

Sam played with Max Chiotis, winning a tight first round set 7-5, then winning subsequent rounds 6-2, 6-2. Both Sam and Max had sone big serves, strong net play and fierce overhead smashes. Well done today.
