Fairfield, CT — Taking on a gritty Wilton team the Mustangs found a way to battle back and win a 32 to 30 game moving them to 3-1 on the season. Warde didn’t have its best shooting game, but when it mattered the players stepped up to get the Mustangs back in the game and eventually take the lead. Matteo Armstrong led the way knocking down three clutch three-pointers in the fourth quarter to take the lead. Wilton would eventually tie the game with 20 seconds remaining. That’s when Kovanni McKiernan stepped up and made a big bucket which was the deciding basket in the game. The Mustangs look to continue their success Tuesday against St Joseph’s of Trumbull.

Fairfield, CT — In the first game of the season Fairfield Warde grinded out a 48-36 win against a gritty Harding team. The Mustangs regrouped after early struggles, finding ways to share the ball and overpower the Presidents of Harding. Warde was led in scoring by Anthony Gourdet (12 pts) and Matteo Armstrong (7 pts). Kovanni McKiernan and Justin Santos secured double digit rebounds leading to Warde's first win of the season. Warde looks to get its 2nd win of the season Friday as it takes on Bassick home at 4 pm. Go Warde!
