REV vs Citrus Valley 3/20 @ Citrus Valley
Redlands, CA — The game started out well, offense successfully moved the ball down inside the CV 40 yd line, but came up empty on a 4th down incompletion. Defense came up big with Nate Wells making a huge 4th down stop on a fake punt by Citrus Valley, but unfortunately the offense was unable to capitalize. CV came down and completed a touchdown pass to take an early 6-0 lead. REV came back behind the legs of Jeramiah Donahue and Jesiah Perez eating up yards on the ground and finishing with a 1 yd touchdown run by Perez. Aidan Boryski kicked the PAT to give REV the lead 7-6 early in the second quarter. Unfortunately, that was the last time REV found the scoreboard. CV went on a 47-0 run to finish out the game, including a staggering 28 points in the span of 6 minutes during the end of the 2nd and beginning of the 3rd quarter. There were numerous glimpses of excellence seen on the field, but REV just could not hold on to the football having 5 fumbles in the game, and losing 4 of them to CV. CV capitalized for 21 points off of turnovers. Donahue finished the game going 12-25 for 181 yds through the air. His top targets were seniors Mikela Johnston and Xzavier McNabb. Johnston had 5 receptions for 115 yds and McNabb had 4 receptions for 71 yds. The Wildcats will regroup this week and take on the Terriers of RHS on Saturday March 27th at 5pm at Citrus Valley High School. The Wildcats are the home team.
