The Ola Mens Lacrosse team traveled down From Macdonough GA to take on the South Effingham Mustangs. It would be the mustangs first victory of the season and a dominant one. Ola played tough throughout and never gave up getting a few last minute goals to help heal their bruised bodies and egos.
It was a disappointing performance from the Mustangs as they traveled to Calvary on a warm Friday evening in Savannah. Calvary won the opening faceoff and quickly scored the first goal in transition. Just a few minutes later the scoreboard would read 4-0. The mustangs played with intensity but were plagued by poor decision making and sloppy fundamentals. The boys played hard the whole way through, and held Calvary to one goal in the 3rd quarter. The Mustang offense just couldn't get it clicking with the lone goal of the game scored on an awesome left handed shot off a great dodge by Junior Dominic Martell.
The mustangs lost a heart breaker against their region and county rival Effingham County High School on Valentines evening Tuesday February 14th. It was a very evenly matched affair with both teams trading blows throughout. Effingham county would eventually take the lead in the second half, and maintain it until the final moments of the 4th quarter when the Mustangs would display their never give up attitude yet again, bringing the score to within one. Unfortunately with just a half a minute to go the Rebels were able to hold on for the win in spite of the last second heroics put on by the Mustangs.
The Savannah Country Day Hornets traveled to the Corral on Friday February 10th to take on the South Effingham Mustangs lacrosse team.
