Clifton Mustangs Win State Section Quarter-Finals Game 3-1

Clifton Mustangs Varsity takes the quarter-final game today, 3-1 against Morristown. Vinny Civitella received the win after pitching 7 innings, striking out 11 and allowing only four hits on the day. Nick Plaskon singled to left field scoring Juan Peralta and Kyle Vellis to put the Mustangs ahead 2-0 in the second inning. Josh Miller added another run in the third with a hit up the middle, scoring Connor Reed. Connor Reed, Jayden Severino and Kyle Vellis had hits in the game as well. Clifton will play Livingston on Tuesday in a Semi-Final game at Nash Park.

Clifton Mustangs defeat North Bergen 10-0 in State Game

The Clifton Mustangs defeated North Bergen 10-0 on Wednesday at Nash Park. Manny Gonzalez threw five and third innings and struck out ten. Kyle Rogers threw an inning in relief to seal the win. Nick Plaskon hit a deep ball into left field bouncing off the fence to drive in the 10th run to secure a walk-off win. Dane Mocera, Justin Rivera, Vinny Civitella and Jayden Severino also had hits in the game. Civitella went 3-4 and Severino went 2-4 in the win.

Clifton Mustangs Varsity v. Eastside

Clifton Mustangs Varsity defeated Paterson Eastside 6-0 in a much closer game in Clifton on Wednesday. Kyle Rogers threw a seven inning shutout, striking out eight and walking only one batter. Mustangs tallied 12 hits in the game. Josh Miller went 3-3 on the day. Jayden Severino, Juan Peralta and Vinny Civitella all had two hits. Nick Plaskon, Conner Reed and Justin Rivera each collected a hit on the day.

Clifton Mustangs Varsity Defeats Eastside in 15-2 Blowout

Clifton Mustangs Varsity pounded Paterson Eastside 15-2 on Monday. Justin Rivera threw 5 innings striking out six and received the win. Clifton collected 14 hits from Mocera, Severino, Miller, Rivera, Plaskon, Civitella, Nick Stathopoulos, Chris Stathopoulos, Reed, Peralta.
