Lady Comets Bowl for Championship

Hanover Horton Girls Varsity Bowling team had a hard fought battle with the Napoleon Pirates tonight at Suburban Lanes. The team made up of Halle Curtis, Sofia Donders, Lana Gilliland, Madison Ashworth, Kaytie Warren, and Makenzie LaFountain knew how much this match meant as with a loss we would share the Conference title with Napoleon. We were neck and neck through the Baker games and lost the first but won the second and totals to go up 6-4 in points. Our goal was to focus as a team knowing that we needed to win the total score not just head to head match ups. The Pirates anchor shot a big 232 game giving them the win in the first team game by 57 pins. I knew though that the H-H girls are strong and very talented and it would be difficult for our apponent to beat us a second time. Everyone put forth their very best and shot a 781 to Napoleon's 719 game! With that effort we won totals by 5 pins and avoided a near tie winning the match 17 to 13!! So with this victory I am very proud to announce the Hanover-Horton Lady Comet Bowlers as the outright:

Bowling vs Homer

Today at University Lanes your Varsity Lady Comet Bowlers competed against the Homer Trojans. We have shot some big games in this house and you could see the confidence on the girl's faces as they started out with baker games of 176 and 188 to take a ten point lead in the match. When starting the regular team games I had the girls keep the same line up and work to control the pocket. As the match went on it became a battle with making spares but they managed to gain another 8 points and win the match quickly. To keep things interesting the bowlers used last games stats to choose the line up. Spares were still tough to get as the mental side of the game was at play. With several strikes they put together a reputable 840 team game. With another test of their adaptability your Comets did well with a 28-2 win!! High games go to Makenzie LaFountain 203 and 214 for a 417 PR set and Kaytie Warren with a 189 (346) set. GO COMETS!!

Bowling with the Jayhawks ver 2

Hanover Horton Girls Varsity Bowling team had a match tonight against the Jayhawks of Vandercook Lake. The team made up of Halle Curtis, Sofia Donders, Madison Ashworth, Kaytie Warren, and Makenzie LaFountain shot a solid baker set with 159, 191 games for a 350 set winning the first ten points. The focus for the team tonight was to control ball feel off our hand each throw to the best of our ability. So are Comet ladies started attacking the lanes with some success but not quite the shot to put up big numbers. In the seventh frame we made some adjustments and the strikes started to come giving us a solid 827 team game. Coach changed the line up order for the second game as we shouldn't get too relaxed. Continuing from the finishing success of the first game the girls had fun, kept focus, and shot their biggest team game which I will mention below to win the match 28-2!!

Bowling with the Cardinals part 2

Hanover Horton Girls Varsity Bowling team had a match tonight against the Michigan Center Cardinals at Suburban Lanes. The team made up of Halle Curtis, Sofia Donders, Madison Ashworth, Kaytie Warren, and Makenzie LaFountain shot well in the baker games and captured 10 quick points to take the lead. Our Comets did there best against the odds as MC was in there home house and we had yet to play there this season. Struggling to get the pins we needed in the first game our opponents bowled above their averages and took all but 1/2 a point. Coach was determined and confident that the Comet Ladies could pull out a victory if the stuck together and found just enough strength and focus. Take a deep breath cause they did it!! In the second game HH took all but 1 point! What a grind that match was as we won 18.5 to 11.5!! High games go to Makenzie LaFountain 191, Kaytie Warren 186, and Halle Curtis with 183! Great Job, excellent sportsmanship, and Go Comets!!
