Littleton 12, Wheatridge 18

A perfect Colorado Autumn Saturday morning for Football. This was a fun game for our younger guys to end our 2023 season, and I felt very good about their attitude and effort. We were a little rusty, as most hadn’t had many game time reps of late, and a few were coming off injury. But, we made it competitive in the 2nd half, by manufacturing a couple of scores with and end around and a halfback pass!

JV - Littleton 0 vs John F Kennedy 18

Our Lion Cub (JV) played with great heart and battled to the final seconds of the game. We had many players playing their first game ever and other having to step in and play positions they are never played before. For example, Kai Durica had never played a down of QB for a tackle football game before and he played his heart out. The Nelson brothers (Brodie & Bailey) are from Australia and just learning the game in its entirety.

No Politics in Football!

Football is the greatest team game for many reasons! On every play it takes 11 guys on the field, a focused coaching staff, and a sideline full of engaged players. If a team has 30 players, each one has an important part all week to make each game as successful as possible!

Our 2023 campaign begins with a tough lesson about the difference between wanting to, and doing what it takes, to get it done. We didn’t get beat last night. We beat ourselves. But, as we build this program brick by brick, adversity is where we find our true selves. Defeat is a tool, when utilized correctly - to reflect, refocus, and dig deep to get better. Not only on the field, but with the heavy lifting it takes to change - change our habits, change our thoughts and to CHANGE OUR CULTURE…
