The Scarlets burn the boats of the Norsemen on opening night!

On a beautiful Friday night in Demarest, the Scarlets dominated on both sides of the ball. The offense rushed for 364 yards and gained over 450 total yards. Nick Buda, Francisco Then, and Kevin Velasquez led the way on the ground and Miles Green, Shea Losino, and Nick Buda each hauled in passes from Francisco. None of this would have been possible without the best offensive line play we’ve seen in some time with Derek Martinez, Jayden Lemire, Saad Dahhan, Noah Evertz, Carlos Castellon, and Jayden Everett.

Playoff game at Glen Rock

On a beautiful fall night the Scarlets played their first game against Glen Rock since the playoff win in 1995. That legendary 1995 team went on to win the State Championship at Giants Stadium. After a slow start in the first half, the Scarlets fought back and didn’t allow a point in the second half. In the end Glen Rock’s defense, which is top 5 in the county, proved to be too much for the Scarlets to get a rhythm on offense. The final score was 13-7 after Brevin Cooney ran for a touchdown.

Scarlets vs. Westwood

In our last game of the season we had the #16 team in the state come to The Pit. We knew this game was going to be a challenge, because Westwood has outscored its opponents 287-27 this season. Although the outcome of a loss is not what we ever want, the coaching staff is very proud with the way the boys played.
