Seahawks Frustrated at Ferndale

Although dominating possession and attacking chances throughout most of the game, the Seahawks ended up losing to Ferndale 2-0. Anacortes started slow as Ferndale threatened to score several times within the first twenty minutes of the match, however, the Seahawks eventually found a rhythm and took control of the game.

Seahawks Tie State Powerhouse Bellingham Sehome

The Anacortes tied state powerhouse Bellingham Sehome 1-1 this past Wednesday. The Seahawks opened the match with a lot of energy and high pressure that caught Sehome off guard. The high press eventually paid off as Anacortes struck first with a twenty yard laser off the left foot of Wesley Hunter.

Seahawks Tie Meridian in a Thriller

In a game that was played on a difficult field surface, Anacortes struggled early to find a rhythm. Ten minutes into the second half, Meridian took the lead on a counter attack. As the game wore on, the Seahawks ratcheted up the pressure and created several scoring chances missing a point blank shot from inside the six yard box and then hitting the crossbar. Finally with two minutes remaining in the game, Aaron McClellan received a beautiful cross from Owen Foley and buried a header in the back of the net.

Tigers Edge Seahawks 1-0

In a tight back and forth match, Burlington was able to edge the Seahawks 1-0. The Tigers took the lead in the 63rd minute by taking advantage of a Seahawk defensive miscue with precise through ball and finish. Anacortes battled back and produced several quality chances, but just couldn’t find the back of the net.
