Lady Bears fall to Green
Massillon, OH — The Bears lost to Green last night at home. Jackson fell behind 30-17 by halftime and could not recover. Emma Dretke recorded a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds for Jackson. Megan Campbell added 10 points for the Polar Bears. Alayna McMullen scored 9 points on three 3 pointers. The Polar Bears were limited without point guard Leena Patibandla who was out with an injury from the McKinley game. They were 15-of-52 from the field and had 17 turnovers. The bears are hoping to bounce back in a big way at Hoover on Saturday!

Bears lose to Pups
Canton, OH — The Polar Bears lost a tough Federal League matchup on the road to McKinley. The bears came out strong right away with a steal and layup by Leena Patibandla. Unfortunately, she went down seconds later with an ankle injury. The lady bears battled without her and lead midway through the second quarter (22-17). They went into the half down 6 and couldn’t regain control. Emma Dretke led the way with 15 points, shooting 4-7 from three. Ava Scroggs had 8 points in the first quarter, grabbed 3 rebounds and had 2 steals. Megan Campbell had another impressive game, scoring 11 points and grabbing 3 rebounds. The Lady Bears travel to East Canton Monday!

Bears defeat Panthers!
Massillon, OH — Jackson overcame a 10-point halftime deficit as the host Polar Bears earned their second consecutive win. Jackson outscored Perry 25-11 in the third quarter to take the lead and then held off a Panther rally late in the fourth quarter. Emma Dretke had 14 points and 6 rebounds to lead Jackson. Ava Scroggs scored 9 points on 3-4 shooting from three. Leena Patibandla had 4 points and 8 assists. Kylie Hawke (4 points) and Alayna McMullen (6 points) played incredible defense and showed great leadership. Freshman Megan Campbell did not look like a freshman, grabbing 5 big rebounds and scoring 7 points back-to-back in the third quarter. The Lady Bears are back in action Saturday at McKinley!

Jackson pulls off the win
Uniontown, OH — Jackson defeated Lake last night in a rescheduled Federal League matchup. Emma Dretke led the way with a double double of 14 points and 13 rebounds. She was almost perfect from the line, shooting 9-10. The lady bears had a slow start, going into the half tied 8-8. A 16-0 run in the third quarter was the difference maker. The bears are back in action tomorrow against Perry at home.

Massillon, OH — The Lady Bears lost a tough Federal League matchup to Glenoak Saturday afternoon. Emma Dretke led all scorers with a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds. Megan Campbell chipped in 9 points. Leena Patibandla scored 7 points and had 7 assists. Alayna McMullen scored 6 points on two three pointers. The bears lead most of the fourth quarter and into the final seconds of regulation. The Eagles turned up the defense, forced a few turnovers, and scored a layup with 5 seconds left to send it to overtime.

Berlin, OH — The Lady Bears had quite the matchup for their first game back after a 10 day quarantine. The bears traveled to The Classic in the Country and played host, Hiland. The bears fell 62-35 to the state powerhouse, who is ranked #1 in Division 3.

Jackson defeats Perry
Massillon, OH — The Lady Bears won a hard fought Federal League battle last night vs. the Perry Panthers. Down two at halftime, Jackson rallied and outscored Perry 24-11 in the second half, after Lauren Pallotta was knocked out of the game with an injury following an intentional foul in the second quarter. Emma Dretke had a double-double, scoring 22 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Leena Patibandla and Alayna McMullen each scored 5 points, while playing incredible defense. Halle Ignacio scored 6 points, hitting two big threes. The bears are back in action tomorrow at home vs. Green.

Massillon, OH — The Polar Bears jumped out to an 18-1 lead after one quarter and rolled past the Tigers. The bears had a balanced effort with 12 different polar bears scoring! Emma Dretke had a game high 19 points. Alayna McMullen finished with 13 points, shooting 3-3 from three. Leena Patibandla led the bears in rebounding (8) and assists (6). Halle Ignacio chipped in 9 points and Ava Scroggs 8 points. The bears are back in action on Monday at Perry!

Massillon, OH — The Lady Bears hosted arguably the number one team in the state yesterday afternoon. Newark came in with a 7-0 record and showed it with a 12-4 run in the fourth quarter, breaking open a 5 point game. Emma Dretke scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Polar Bears. Lauren Pallotta was back in action tonight, adding 8 points! Leena Patibandla had 6 points and 4 assists. Kylie Hawke and Alayna McMullen led the bears defensively against an incredibly strong Newark offense. The polar bears made great strides and definitely grew as a team! Their next game is against powerhouse Solon on Wednesday, December 30th.

The bears were tested late but kept their composure and held on for the win at home!

Lady Bears fall to Glenoak
Canton, OH — The Lady Bears fell to Glenoak last night 42-34. They were led by Junior Emma Dretke (12 points, 7 rebounds), Sophomore Leena Patibandla (10 points, 8 rebounds), and senior Kylie Hawke (6 points, 7 rebounds). The bears had a 15-14 lead going into the half but couldn't overcome a tough third quarter deficit (14-3). They fought hard in the final minutes of the game, trying to spurt a comeback. The bears are back at it on Wednesday against Perry.

Massillon, OH — The polar bears had a tough home opener versus Federal League rival, Hoover. The bears fell 50-41. They jumped out to a 14-11 lead after the first quarter and went into the half tied at 23. Sophomores Lauren Pallotta and Leena Patibandla lead the way with 15 and 12 points a piece. Emma Dretke grabbed 8 rebounds and scored 7 points. In the end the bears couldn’t overcome the 18 turnovers that fueled Hoovers 4th quarter pull away.

Union Town, OH — JACKSON 54, GREEN 35  Lauren Pallotta totaled 16 points and nine rebounds while Emma Dretke added a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds as the defending Federal League champions opened league play with a road win. The Lady Bears played solid defense led by Alayna McMullen’s 4 steals and Kylie Hawke’s TWO charges! Jackson, which jumped out to a 20-8 lead after one quarter, improved to 2-0 overall. They play Hoover at home Wednesday.

Jackson wins road opener verses Northwest
Canal Fulton, OH — Emma Dretke totaled 23 points and nine rebounds and Lauren Pallotta added 11 points as the Polar Bears opened the season with a road win. The Lady Bears made 8 three point baskets with Lauren (3), Emma (2), Alayna McMullen, Ava Scroggs and Megan Campbell all contributing. Lily Bottomley scored 11 points for Northwest. Jackson never trailed in the game and Northwest could not get a potential game-tying shot off in the final 10 seconds.
