Tiger LHAC JV Invite
Varsity Track & Field
Mother Nature must be a Tiger at Heart
Hollidaysburg, PA — Trying to follow up a perfect evening, like last night's Award's Picnic, is always hard to do, especially when dealing with a 2025 season that Mother Nature wants to keep miserable. Well, Ms Nature most certainly is a Tiger @ Heart ❤️ since the rains stopped and at times, she shone brightly on the Tigers. The first ever Golden Tiger 9th-10th Invitational was a success. Mixing in Senior Night made the afternoon even better. The 4 other teams in attendance were talking about keeping it going, especially as a last chance type qualifier for their District Meet. All the meet workers were Athletes, from those running the field events, the Timers, made up of the Tigers Distance team, The Clerks, the grounds workers and even Anthony DeStefano doing the Finishlynx Timing and race evaluations! There was no team score kept for this event. This coach's highlight of the day was the 4 Sr Girls, 3 throwers & a pole vaulter asking to run a 4x4 to close out their Lady Tiger Career's. Hats off to Katie Klingner, Maddie McLauren, Olivia Miknis and Leah Petrunak for adding that cherry on top of a great 2 days! Go Tigers!

LHAC Championships
Loretto, PA — With last seasons entrance into the LHAC, the Tigers were faced with something that is kinda unheard of in the world of sports. Unless you were the “winner” of one of the two sub conferences in the LHAC, you didn’t get to Score for the Championships. That meant, our boys, who happened to loose to Central due to a field trip that took 1/2 the team and 4 of the highest scoring boys on the team, were NOT eligible for the Overall Title. When the dust, and Randy Wilson finally settled, the boys outscored the the 2 teams that were scoring for the title by over 100 points each!

Other lady Tigers taking a top 3 finish were Brinley Bilthuis, Anna Statler, Taylor Buss, Leah Pugh, Addison Basenback, Helanai Williams, Leah Petrunak, Lauryn Brick, Payton Muth, Evie Sipes and Madison McLaurin.

Back at it
Wingate, PA — The Golden Tigers travel to Bald Eagle for a LHAC meet with Phillipsburg-Osceola and BG. After the marathon day @ Shipp, it will be good for both the athletes physical and mental state. I mean, c’mon, but where does a Golden Tigers run a 10.55 in the 100m dash, shattering his own school record, only to take 4th? That was the kind of competition that was on display at Shipp. With this meet and next weeks rescheduled meet @ Clearfield, the Tiger will be finished with the LHAC regular season.

Shipp Invite
Shippensburg , PA — An early Easter this year means Shipp will happen over Easter Weekend. The Shipp invite has morphed the last few years from the original AA and AAA formats like the state meet, the new format blends Both classes together for a high quality meet featuring state level athletes around the state. This meet presents itself as a meet that will be harder than our District Meet. With high entry standards, the Tigers are taking a contingent on 21 athletes, boys/girls combined. Expect a Long, Long Day as the first event is set to start at 9am and the 4x400 relay, the last event, is scheduled for 5:40pm. 🤞for nice weather, since the girls will need to “work on that tan” for the prom in May!

Clearfield, PA — The Tigers will travel up the Mountain for am LHAC Meet with Bellefonte and Clearfield. Both of these schools have been 2 of the stronger teams on the Tigers schedule and it seems to always come down to the wire. Mother Nature will play a big role AGAIN tomorrow as there is expected to be high winds and temps in the 40’s, typical bi-polar Spring Weather in Pennsyltuckey!

@Altoona for a 9th-10th graders meet
Varsity Track & Field
What’s a little rain you ask!
Altoona, PA — So today’s 9th-10th graders meet at Mansion was one for the memory books of those athletes that braved the elements. While a handful of athletes had season’s best times, others from both teams were content to run in their watered down, now heavy cotton sweats. However, there was 1 athlete spotted jumping with his hooded down puffy jacket!

Too Many Long Pauses Meet!
Hollidaysburg, PA — Yesterday’s meet was a contrast to what the day was starting to be, blue skies, a little breeze, loads of athletes and everything all set…….Then Technology rears its ugly head, which was discovered during the 2nd event of the day. For whatever reason, there were No Central girls entered in the meet, all the boys were but NO GIRLS. Meet came to a standstill as we tried to figure out why! When the Time/Space/Continuum set in, Fuzz took over doing a little old school mixed with a little new school to get back underway. Thnx Fuzz!

First Time against Richland
Hollidaysburg, PA — The Tigers will play host to Richland on Thursday 4/3. This will be the First meeting between these 2 programs. After researching recent results against Bedford, the Lady Tigers are in for a fight. A quick scoring of our best vs their best gives them a win by 2 pts, just what happened at the LHAC Championships where we lost to Bedford 76-74! The girls 4x400 is a Dead Heat Time wise so this should be a great meet. Mother Nature may play a big role tomorrow!

Bellwood/Tyrone
Bellwood, PA — After a long day at the Igloo Meet, the Golden Tigers open their road campaign with a short trip north to Bellwood to run in an LHAC meet against Bellwood and Tyrone. Both these programs were also represented well at the Igloo so it looks to be a close meet. Tyrone has depth to their program they haven’t had before and Bellwood always has a contingent of throwers that have caused us problems in the past. I know coach Ulery has had to deal with having a roster that is too big for a bus. This season, the first for the girls, our numbers are ALSO bigger than what will fit on a bus, making it necessary to leave kids behind.

Altoona, PA — 2025 Season's first major invitational, the Altoona Igloo, most always stays true to its name being either cold, rainy, snowy or a mix of all 3. If it is gorgeous for the Igloo, then the rest of the season will be a weather nightmare. Historically attracting teams from across the state, it isn't unusual for the Igloo to play host to over 20 teams of both AA and AAA status, all competing together. There is No Team Score kept just the opportunity to compete against some of the best athletes from around the state.
