Girls Team Ends Up 2nd Place in SWMSC

Girls Team Ends Up 2nd Place in SWMSC

"These girls never stop amazing me! At the beginning of the season, when I looked at this team I knew that they had a ton of potential but I also knew our conference had some very fast skiers and some teams that were deep and could really make a run at the championship. My girls stepped up and skied well enough to end up in 2nd place and they should be proud of their efforts. My seniors, Barbie DeGood and Evie Schlett, really did a great job skiing this year but what I am most proud of is how they brought up everyone around them. These two girls helped everyone on their team grow as skiers, I saw them working with our exchange students and younger skiers to help them grow & learn from their experiences." Coach Petrosky "Throughout the season we saw Mya and Kyleigh improve in their skill and confidence and I saw my seniors there leading them every step of the way. This last race was a very bittersweet moment for me since it was the end of an era, which is always sad but I have seen the passing of the torch of leadership this season and am excited to see how our new leaders will push their team forward."

Girls Team Take 5th Regionals

"Monday's regional race at Caberfae was one of the coldest races we have been to in years but we had some great racing to keep us warm. My seniors really skied well at their last regional race. Barbie earned a place on the all regional team with her 13th place finish in slalom and just missed qualifying for the state finals and Evie led the team in giant slalom." Coach Petrosky. "We were only 14 points away from being in 4th place which would have tied our highest regional finish."

The Girls team cruises to 2nd at the Battle for Bittersweet

"I love what I am seeing from our girls team as we get ready for Regionals, everyone is pushing themselves and our speeds are increasing. This team can ski with anyone around and they are fun to coach. Even though we did not have everyone at Thursday's race, everyone we did have gave us great runs." Coach Petrosky " I want compliment all the teams that we skied against tonight--they are all newer teams and I am impressed with the level of competition that they are providing in our conference. Plainwell TK has had a Co-op for 3 years, Hudsonville & South Haven both have their first girls team this year and it is fun watching them get better every meet. Competition makes everyone better and it is helping our skiers grow."

Solid Skiing Moves the Scots into 2nd Place in the SWMSC

"If you have been watching the Olympics you have seen what an unpredictable sport ski racing can be, it is a sport of skill, mental toughness and a little luck at times. The SWMSC is a tough conference made up of some of the best skiers in south west Michigan and tonight our girls skied great, finished 4th and also moved into 2nd place in the standings for the conference." Coach Petrosky "We were very consistent in tonight's race and our girls skied some great times, which we expected after racing up north for the past two races. I am extremely excited to see Mya Baldwin lead the way for the team in GS, not too many sophomores do what she did tonight. We are senior heavy team and having the sophomores starting to step up is a great sign for the future our girls team".
