Buzzer Beater 3 by Trevor Yan STUNS Carl Sandburg
Parlin, NJ — The Bombers entered the game 5-1 with their only defeat coming at the hands of today's opponent Carl Sandburg Middle School. The Bombers looking to avenge the loss with a strong effort at home found themselves in a classic back and forth battle. Sandburg found a way to slow down the Bombers transition offense and was hot from downtown with 9 threes that kept the Bombers on their heels for 4 quarters. With the Bombers trailing 54-52 with 10.3 seconds left, Coach Donegan drew up a play for the win. Sayreville inbounded to Julian Hall, dribble hand off to Jason Berescky who passed it to Trevor Yan in the corner. Trevor's shot went long but the rebound went back to Sayreville as Aaren Cireno went for an immediate put back. His shot also went long and it looked like the Bombers had run out of time. Jason Berescky, in what can only be described as one of the greatest passes of all time, caught the rebound and while still in mid-air kicked the ball out and hit Trevor Yan with a beautiful pocket pass in the corner. Sandburg learned the hard way that you don't give Yan two looks to win the game as Trevor's 3pt shot rattled in as the buzzer sounded giving the Bombers the win. The Bombers are now on a 6 game win streak and remain undefeated at home!
