JSerra Catholic 5, Santa Margarita Catholic 13
Boys Jr. Varsity Tennis
JSerra 5 - 13 Santa Margarita; loss :(
Rancho Santa Margarita, CA — In this friendly, “non-league” match, Coach Wilson inverted most of of our normal line-up, putting singles into the doubles and vice-versa, in order to give our singles guys a much-needed rest before the Trinity League Tournament. Nice try though :)

JSerra 11 - 7 Santa Margarita, win ! :)
San Juan Capistrano, CA — In a non-league fill-in match, JV boys defeated the visiting Eagles from Santa Margarita 11-7, our 2nd win against them this year. They’ll be back next week for the determining league title match - our JV boys have a chance to be outright league champions for the first time in schools history. Save the date: April 5th.

Laguna Beach 10, JSerra Catholic 8
Boys Jr. Varsity Tennis
JSerra 8 - 10 Laguna Beach, loss :(
San Juan Capistrano, CA — The score was 3 to 3 at end of first round, 3 to 3 in 3rd round, but 2-4 in middle round = 8-10 loss. Lopsided attack again: 8 singles set wins vs zero doubles wins :(

Portola 15, JSerra Catholic 3
Boys Jr. Varsity Tennis
JSerra 3 - 15 Portola, loss :(
San Juan Capistrano, CA — Portola is one of the few schools in Orange County which has more boys in the program than girls, causing tough internal competition for team and ladder placement. It was evident that there are a lot of “hungry” boys on their team, as they punished us in singles and doubles.

Segerstrom 3, JSerra Catholic 15
Boys Jr. Varsity Tennis
JSerra 15 - 3 Segerstrom, win :)
San Juan Capistrano, CA — Visiting Coach Richard Kosai stepped up to add this fill-in match for our JV boys after we found out we lost 6 Trinity League matches due to 3 schools not fielding JV teams. And then that happened to his team just this week! So the extra match, as lopsided as it was, helped out both programs.

Boys Jr. Varsity Tennis

JSerra 13 - 5 Crean Lutheran, win!
Irvine, CA — JSerra overturns earlier 3-15 loss with a resounding 13-5 win at Crean Lutheran this afternoon. How’d that happen?….with a full, complete team. Last match had half the team at the Beckmann Tournament, today the Lion Pride was in full force.

JSerra Catholic 6, Huntington Beach 12
Boys Jr. Varsity Tennis
JSerra 6 - 12 Huntington Beach, loss :(
Huntington Beach, CA — Calm winds, warm breezes right off the ocean, but not so smooth sailing on the courts. Only one player managed to win more than one set: MVP of the day, Marco Belciano, who won all 3 sets played.

Fountain Valley 3, JSerra Catholic 15
Boys Jr. Varsity Tennis
JSerra 15 - 3 Fountain Valley, win!
Fountain Valley, CA — Missing guys but Coach Brendon let us play a 5 singles, 1 doubles format so we didn’t need to forfeit any sets….also gave doubles players a chance to play 3 sets of singles.

Boys Jr. Varsity Tennis
JSerra 2 - 6 University, loss.

JSerra Catholic 15, El Toro 3
Boys Jr. Varsity Tennis
JSerra bulls over El Toro 15-3.
Lake Forest, CA — Great way to start the season with a solid win at El Toro High School. Despite the lopsided score, there was some really good tennis being played by boys from both squads with more than a handful of long singles points, resulting in unsolicited applause from all the spectators.
